If you have followed posts by DUmmy rsmithnumbers, you recognize him as being among the DUmbest of all the DUmpmonkeys.

He's so pitifully, comically stupid, it's a real inspiration for him to come up with a tale about having student loans.

What on earth could he have studied?

Anyway, it's not a stretch to believe that he's defaulted on loans, but if he borrowed money for education, he sure was ripped off.

Student Loan Collections Question.

My student loans like many other people are in collections were they are no easier to pay off than before collections.


The past two years I have let the IRS take my return money and apply it towards the debt. I want to get this matter back in to a more positive light on my credit report. It has been hard with no money leftover to pay them down hence the moving them to collection status.

Like those debt consolidation places that can work and reduce your revolving debt are there similar business that operate much the same way.

Thanks in advance for any direction you can point me in.

1. Are You Able To Apply For An Income-Based Repayment Plan?

I know all about this because my student loans were about to default, and when I called my student loan company, they told me about this program. It's a program started by President Obama (the Socialist!!!) It's a really easy application procedure, and you just provide them proof of your income and a few other pieces of information, then they calculate how much you're able to pay per month based on your income. This program took my monthly payments down from $900 a month to just over $100 a month.

Oh, and speaking as an attorney who DOES collections (with a wife who is a collections attorney for the State of Ohio), don't EVER go to one of those "Credit Counselling" services, or anyplace that says they can lower your debt without bankruptcy. They're a major rip-off. They don't do anything you couldn't do yourself AND they charge you a fee to do it.
 
So, a question: Is DUmmy ChoppinBroccoli a liar, a deadbeat, or both?

For 3 years, my monthly payment was $0, because my family income was less than 10% above the poverty line for my family size. When my wife went back to work, it naturally changed... I think it was around $100 when I recently deferred them again so I can return to school.

Perhaps rsmith6621 (6,287 posts) has exceeded his/her/it's planned obsolescence. It's numerical value is exceeded by post count.

I dunno, but if what he said about his employment and his wife's was true (As if...), they must really suck as attorneys to both be employed in the profession and STILL be within whispering distance of poverty.

That's what I was wondering, because the rsmithnumbers primitive always struck me as an older middle-aged guy, or even past 65 years old.

Perhaps it's a case like the graywarrior primitive in Massachusetts, who started college when she was 18, and who's now in her 60s.....and still only a sophomore or something, because she's deferred repayment of her student loans since before many members of conservativecave were even born.

He did! But the highlight for me was the hot mic of the reporters from different networks coordinating their questions attacks on Mitt Romney for speaking out against the boy king (Romney's answer was great). I haven't yet figured out why this kind of thing was okay for both Kerry & 0bama to do previously (well, I really do) and not now. Even people who don't follow the news closely see the bias. Seriously, they're becoming a national laughingstock. Hopefully it's their last gasp before they go the way of the dodo.
