Thanks for the info on Jindal, my grumpy "old" friend. 8)

I like the guy, but can't see any logical reason to make him the running mate.

He is a well liked guy in LA and elsewhere. He just stinks as a fiscal conservative. The last 4 or 5 Governors fit that bill also. Plus, it makes little difference of party affiliation.

I always have my happy shoes on. Politicians for the most part just piss me off. :-)

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I think Rubio wouldn't be a very good choice. If anything, he should get some more experience and then maybe run in 2020. I think then he will be a good contender for the Presidency.

Romney should pick a good VP who has experience, and is liked by the masses: Of those Allen West, Scott Walker, and Bobby Jindal (How much experience does Jindal have?) come to mind.

West has 2 years experience
Walker has 2 years
Jindal has 5 years

When I hear conservatives talk about experience, loser politicians that ran for President like Gore, Kerry, Dole and McCain come to mind. All had a wealth of experience but boring and stuffy as hell. What voters are looking for is someone that has new ideas and can motivate the base. They do NOT want a career politician with a shitpot full of experience.

IMO, Romney has it in the bag. West and Rubio could energize the base and help the Repubs win by a landslide. Might be others out there but please give me a VP that is a fighter who is not a mushy, stuffy shirt, old, white guy.

You claim you DONT want a "career politician" and then claim you WANT Rubio, who has been out of college for 16 years and been a politician for the past 14. That IS a career politician. You have absolutely no clue what you want, you are the typical voter.

I said the voters want a fresh face rather than some old, politician that has been in the public eye on a national level for many years. Rubio and West fit that bill.

On to your picks, Portman and Jindal. Portman is about as dull a politician as you can get. Plus, he was budget director under Bush. Not what I would call a good pick because the democraps would have a field day bashing a Bush appointee. He would turn out to be a liability.

Jindal is not a fiscal conservative. I live in Louisiana. You are the one that does not have a clue about the budget and the fiscal mess he has created in this state. I assume you overlooked my post.

Finally, we want the same thing and that is to defeat Obama. We just come at it from different angles. So, don't get your bowels all in an uproar.

I didnt overlook your post you overlooked the VPs duties, the VP isnt a policy setter. Also its not a politicians job to be interesting or exciting, its to govern effectively. If you pick a VP based on what will energize your base and not whats best for America then you dont deserve to win. People wanted fresh faces in 2008 and 2010. They got them and now they are extremely disappointed with them. Do you really think they want to go for a 3rd round of disappointment?

In most cases, the VP is not a policy setter. Dick Cheny was the exception rather than the rule. In other words, it is up to the top of the ticket to decide how much influence and what type of policies the VP would be entrusted to. If McCain had won, Palin would have been given free reign to use her expertise in the energy sector cause she is more knowledgeable than any of the duds on the hill. That would have probably been her one and only policy gig. Strength's: Portman's would be a budget wok. Kasich unemployment and jobs, West defense, Rubio a young fresh face to garner Latino votes.

McCain was a piss poor candidate and there was a great deal of anti-Bush sentiment plus white guilt. Massive job losses did not help either. So, it was not only a question of a fresh face, it was a combination of negatives that added up to a Democratic victory. Palin did energize the base and IMO McCain would have lost even worse had he not picked her.

I don't follow you with the the 2010 campaign. The Repubs took over the House and picked up a few seats in the Senate. It was not a rout like 2008. I agree that some of the Tea Party candidates have been a disappointment especially those voting for more spending. Repubs need to win the WH and the Senate. We can only hope that they  get back on the right track.

The VP can be a very effective tool in spearheading and pushing for implementation of the Presidents Policies and desired legislation.  That is where legislative experience would be a plus.

Someone the likes of Kasich would fit that bill. He is a social conservative with a bent towards fiscal responsibility. he is also ready to take on the job as president if it should be necessary.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

From a legislative and fiscal standpoint, Kasich would be great. However, I do not know if he could create excitement and fire up the base like West or Rubio could. The Democraps will go after Romney as a stuffy shirt uninspiring rich Repub. In my view, he needs someone just the opposite.

If Juan McLame had run in 2008, he probably would have won. :cheers1:

I would LOVE to see a West/Bidet debate. (Not a typo). West would send him back to The Villages with a new orifice.

I'd love to see him pick Bachmann for the sole fact it would drive the moonbats...well, battyer.

Col. West is my choice, though.

Juan McLame?

You know, the senile old bastard who was theoretically Sarah Palin's running mate?  The one who spent more time giving Obama fellatio than he did giving his base a reason to vote for him?  That one.

O.k. I never heard of him being called that. I agree with you, though. I don't think he wanted the job. Or he sure as hell didn't show that he wanted it.

Your education has been shamefully lacking. :-)

I use to have a nice avatar of "Immigartion for Dummies" featuring a forward by Juan.

I threw up a little in my mouth in the voting booth.  I barley considered him a RINO and still am not convinced he should even be consider that close to the party.  His nomination was the ultimate WTF moment.

The self identified tea party congressmen had a lesser fiscal voting record than the establishment republicans. People voted in "fresh faces" only to find out they were worse than what they had before.

I am not disputing that but would you rather have new faces or the same old liberal/RINO's in there with botox Nancy as speaker. The Repubs took back the House which is a good thing.

FYI, once these new faces go to DC they find out very quick that they have to play ball with the higher ups. If they do not, they find out  that the committee assignments that they want to be a member of goes to another individual. This is true of the Democratic Party also. The system stinks but that is how the game is played.

As I might have said a few pages before, I'd love to see Rep. West on the ticket.  Not only would he ram it right up Plugs' ass, he'd also rip any LSM members stupid enough to challenge him to shreds. :nunchuck: :killemall:

As many republicans we can get in congress are good. But my point was that those fresh faces didnt help them and possibly even hurt them because the new people now have to "play ball" to build up all the political capital that the "RINO"s had and end up with just as bad of a voting record. Also the term RINO is antiquated, the most "liberal" republican in congress now votes more conservative than the most "conservative" democrat.
