A small generator to power AC, a refrigerator and a few lights could be had for under a $1000. Why is the smellycatdude such a cheap bastard?
Well, here's my take on this, seeing as I'm in Springfield, VA, so about 60 miles from Stinky...After Snowmageddon in 2010, I told my hubby "we should buy a generator". We didn't.After the ice storm in January 2011, when hubby and kids (I was out of town on business) lost power for 24 hours, I said "We should buy a generator". We didn't.While waiting for Hurricane Irene last August, I said "We should have bought a generator". We didn't.In hour 30 of our power outage this weekend, as I threw out a freezer full of meat and veggies, I dropped the drippy, stinky mess on the patio in front of him and said "Go to Home Depot and order a #&%@ generator TODAY!!" It will be delivered to the store this coming weekend. My neigbhors have generators, but it didn't occur to me to ask for a few amps, because we didn't get off our lazy asses and buy one when we should have. The house stayed quite comfortable (thanks to the new windows we bought last summer), and we were able to stay in communication via my business BlackBerry, which I kept recharged in my big ass, gas-guzzling, Earth-killing SUV. Power came on at the 37 hour mark, and all is well, except we'll be eating tuna and peanut butter until I get to the store (waiting for roofer right now). I never once felt that I was living in a third world country, but I did, for a very brief moment, want to send my hubby to one.
You must be an amazingly patient woman, most of us would have figured out to slink off and buy one after the first event to avoid all the "I told you sos" from our wives later, even if we never really expected another protracted power outage for the rest of our lives.
Hell, even though I'm still in an apartment, I went out and got one before Irene came by last year.
We also know if stinky boy had shown a moment of clarity & got a generator, he would be jealously guarding every watt & laughing at his unpowered neighbors.
While syphoning gas from their vehicles.
The answer is simple, pass a tax on people that do not have generators. Simple solutions for simple minds.
If one is running a generator, how does one "spare" a few amps for a neighbor? Do you put it in a measuring cup or something?
The liberal neighbors should just do what OWS did... sneak in when nobody is looking and bogart a few electrical outlets.
Typical lib, Stink bemoans the fact that some of his neighbors have generators because they planned ahead, while Mr. DUmbass chose not too install one and is upset that his neighbors won't power his house out of the kindness of their heart. What a f-tard .
Even worse he feels entitled to some amps from the people who planned ahead.
the few souls running their generators while not offering a few amps to anyone else.Did DUmmie ever think that maybe they don't have any amps to spare....does DUmmie think a 4,000 watt genset will run a whole neighborhood?
