I took a pic of my truck's outside temp before and after I got back from the store. My truck is in a carport. the 118 is before.

It certainly is. I was right in the line of the storms last night. We had 2/3 of Ohio without power at first last night. Still about 400K without. Ours was off overnight and came on around 11 am. It is really horrible. I contacted a friend to see how they were doing and they have a generator so she says no a/c but they got the fridge going and can run some fans. They are coming over if that's not enough. I feel for those who went through today with no electric at all. It's ridiculous out there today!

Past week amd half or so temps been hitting right at about 100o, Today was only low ninety's upper eighties.

Got up to 100 in the Smoky Mtns which is unusual.  Got another day or two of mid to lower 90's, but after mid week we're expected to be back to our regular summer temps (mid 80's @ day and lower to mid 60's @ night).

It's freakin' hot here.  I had to drape a towel over my Toyota so I could work on it withouth getting burned.

I picked up a half-gallon thermos from Walgreens.  I've been through two of them today and I'm on the third.

It is freaking storming it's ass off today. Earlier it was 107 and sunny. I've probably heard over 500 lightning strikes in the past 3 hours. The wife is gonna have a helluva day tomorrow with claims.

BTW, you westerners need to understand, it's humid as hell this way. Trust me, it's not the same. I've served with people from NM, NV, and AZ.

No, it's not the same.  I grew up in Wisconsin.  I know what it's like to deal with a really hot summer day of 100+ degrees with 100% humidity.  It sucks.  The desert is much better at 105 degrees.  I about threw a fit when we went back to Illinois for our daughter's first birthday.  It was 92 that day with a humidity percentage of about 80%.  I wanted to get back on the plane and go back to Las Vegas almost immediately.

I cleaned the house all day due to my parents coming and when I'd walk out under the carport to smoke, I would start dripping sweat. That's how hot it was. It's cooled off significantly with the storm.

BTW Bluestate, I'd have no where to keep a generator. I live in a townhome with a small storage room. The wife house has plenty of room, but I ain't livin' there no mo. ;-)

I pulled into the parking lot of an auction in Charleston S.C. one hot, muggy morning. The local radio station had just said it was 10 am. and 93 degrees. The fellow in the car next to me got out and was wiping sweat off his face. He asked me, "How damn hot is it?" I answered him, "The radio just said it's 93." He said, "The hell you say. It was 110 when I left Houston yesterday and it wasn't this damn hot."

That humidity makes it hotter and it also makes it colder too.  

Bad storms north of me and Rebel's storms to the south of me....lucky again, I hope.

Twenty-four yrs in Texas and I don't recall the power ever being out for more than twenty to thirty minutes maybe.
