Doing Stupid Business
« on: June 26, 2012, 06:37:00 PM »

OK, so the first image Oreo posted was the one on top. In response to some of the negative comments, they posted this full one for all the world to see. Now, my problem with this isn't about gays, or racism. (Although, you did a bang up job of inflaming people with that 2nd pic, Oreo....Idiots) My problem with this is strictly from a business/sales perspective as I said on FB.

As a business that sells yummy treats, (Kraft) should your goal not be to sell as much of it as possible? SO...should your thought process not be in the realm of "How can we make slogangs, market, campaign, etc for Oreos, and our other assorted treats instead of making a political agenda out of your company? BOTH the gay thing, and the race thing are still battles in the U.S. It's a fact. So as a business person, why would you even go there when you KNOW damn well (if you're intelligent) that some people are going to shun Oreos if not Kraft itself? Does EVERYTHING have to be  :censored: political? Does EVERYTHING have to have a  :censored: agenda with it?

It just isn't smart business. Your end goal should be to SELL. To make PROFIT! End of freaking story! And I'd say the same thing if I were the CEO of Kraft. (Though, if I was, this campaign would have been shot down immediately.

The original one is still on their Facebook page... I don't see the new one on there.  It was probably dreamed up by some angry queer in response to the original picture and put online.

I thought I heard the second one was also done by Oreo as a sort of response. Meh... The 2nd one is still relevant to my sentences about it. Whoever dreamed it up is one hateful person.

Wonder how long it will take DUmmie Land to grab this, discuss it, cheer it, and bad mouth all dissenters?

It's what the DUmp does.

I can't imagine Oreo publishishing something that compares their customers to racist segregationists.  They would be shooting themselves in the foot.

George Tekei posted that same image about to show what he thinks. He's obviously in support of that very glaring, bad, wrong statement.

So since we're obviously wading in the waters of the homosexual discussion, I guess I'll just post this comment from FB even though my OP stands:

Quote
Well, I think there is actually quite a big difference dependent on what you are talking about when it comes to prejudice and bigotry. Racism and Homosexual bigotry I would classify as almost the exact same thing because those things are genetically inherited inside of our bloodlines. Something about prejudice or bigotry based on a persons religion i would say is a different thing though since A religious belief is completely and totally external to genetics and is not ever passed internally by bloodline. Homosexuality and Race? Passed internally via genetics. Religious beliefs? Passed externally and learned long after birth has taken place. So I disagree completely with Zach's earlier comment that Racial bigotry is different than Homosexual bigotry. And I also disagree with Arick that Bigotry is Bigotry no matter what. It's not fair to be critical of people for things they have no control over, but how about the things they do? Not that we should all be religious bigots, but i am bigoted toward religions that practice open religious intolerance. Westboro baptist Churchers for one. Hell I am bigoted towards pedophiles and rapists too while we are on topic of justified bigotry.

Now I'm confused. How can homosexuality be passed on through the bloodline if same sexes cannot screw, and give their DNA to the child they bear? This persons bolded comments are baseless, and without evidentiary support. Unless...you know, after gays adopt a kid, they do DNA transfusions, or something. I don't think technology is that advanced....

Still absolutely no proof that homosexuality is passed via genetics.  Lots of studies and speculation, but no PROOF.

Fail.

They really don't want to find a "ghey gene".  If found, then a cure might follow.

H5 for this.

Another ponderable:  if ex-gay ministries and reparative therapy are so rediculous, they why do gays fight so vehemently against them?

I'm a fundie, but I'm not outraged.  We live in the United States of America.  If a company wants to risk it's business placating < 3% of the population, so be it.  I'll just buy my cookies elsewhere.
