I was one of their top moneymakers but grossly underpaid - exploited, really - and as a result I secured a new position with unlimited opportunity with one of the best companies in my industry.

The key here dummie is "unlimited opportunity". Notice it is an opportunity, not a guarantee, that you will succeed. You will have to be self motivated and work hard to succeed. The key here is "work hard" and "self motivated". Foreign concepts to you.

Well BD... the only way someone can be exploited is if they let it happen. I've worked in crappy jobs before. I've worked for crappy employers before. It is easier to get a job when you got one though so I put up with it until I found something better then I left.

Now who exploited whom?

Just depends on how you look at it. Dummies look at it like they being exploited. I look at it as an opportunity. Good companies will often hire people away from bad companies and consider the fact that the person worked there then they must be dedicated and if they are in the same line, then they use the bad company as their training ground.

McDonalds is always hiring. In fact, wasn't it recently that they hired 50,000 people in one day? I think it was some sort of thing they were doing to try and help the unemployed?

And what made it all the more laughable is that ONE DAY HIRING by McD's was over HALF the total increase in the job market nationwide for the entire month.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering how many of those 50K are still employed there.

I worked at a McD's in high school and I remember one of the managers saying their turnover rate back then was something like 300-400 percent for hourly employees.  Can't imagine it's much different now.
