So my cheap employer stiffed me on my last check...

I was one of their top moneymakers but grossly underpaid - exploited, really - and as a result I secured a new position with unlimited opportunity with one of the best companies in my industry.

I gave notice Tuesday and they sent me home. They have now paid me (via wire) for two days - when they owe me at minimum for five (they sent me home Monday when I gave notice -- they're pissed I'm leaving--and I'm not demanding pay through the notice that was ended, although that's what decent employers do, or for the sick day during which I was actually interviewing for the new job.)

They screwed me & others on bonus last year due to "cash-flow problems".

I told them via email that they need to square this up today as if I am forced to file a wage claim I'll also claim for the short bonus and overtime ( a few hours a week but it adds up).

Tell me again how small biz owners are the shit? These folks are just greedy and they seriously lack integrity.

Thanks for letting me vent.

So let me get this straight, you took a sick day to interview for a new job, and you are bitching about their integrity?
Secondly best I can tell from this, is you got paid for the Monday you worked and the Tuesday when they told you bye. So what do they owe you? You don't work you don't get paid. Yeah it sucks they didn't honor your notice and canned you, but that right there tells me, you are'nt the valuable employee you thought you were. If you had any value to them they would have sat you down and asked what they could do to keep you.

Odds are what really happened is the DUmp monkey came up hot on a random drug test.

Fully agree, but if said DUmb**** actually was a drug dealer, and some of his "clients" abused the "credit" he gave, . . .  :whistling:

Every dang DUmmie I have ever seen thought this, "I was one of their top moneymakers but grossly underpaid..."...and everyone of them was a drag on the company and other workers.

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Newbie question here.  I see a lot (a whole lot) of this type of post on the dump. Do we consider this a form of bouncy or, a completely different subset of the general BS that is DU?

Bouncy is usually reserved for a tall tale of a confrontation with a repuke, it is based on a long gone poster known as bouncy ball at DU, she was always telling stories of how she shut up and converted conservatives to liberalism. It has evolved over time to be used pretty much for every bull shit story posted at DU, so this could be considered a bouncy since the primitive is lying, but according to Frank's first law of primitives, primitives or DUmmies always lie, that means every thing posted at DU could be technically a bouncy.  :-)

Shorter answer, if you want to call it a bouncy, you can.

I missed that, it was difficult to figure out just what the primitive was saying to begin with. I'm not exactly an English major, but they really could use lessons in writing at DU.

As said before, if the DUmmy was a top performer the owner would have had a sit down and proposed ways to keep said DUmmy making money for him. As said owner walked it off the property tells me that he was worried about the DUmmy sabotaging or otherwise hurting the business. the few times that I have left a company it is aw with two weeks notice and management always tried to keep me. When a suitable compromise was not reached they wanted me to finish what I could and tie up loose ends. Being a person with integrity I did my best until I left.  One company that I left I later came back to, at better position and salary.

Thanks so much.  Precise order is so important to me.

I put together a scale for scoring and rating them years back - I think it does a good job bringing all the points that make up a good bouncy tale together - but scoring them is purely subjective.

Quote from: Miskie's Bouncy Checklist

Add one point per item covered by the bouncy...

1 the tale starts with a conjunction
2 introduces a 'villain',
3 a 'hero',
4 and a 'victim',
5 includes an unexpected threat
6 contains a conversion of the 'villain' to 'hero', 'victim' or both.
7 contains verbatim quotes
8 includes commentary about the sorry state of affairs
9 includes at least some topical political discussion
10 contains at least one snarky comment that flies over the head of the 'villain'

I use this as a guideline and add or subtract points based on overall presentation. It is possible to get 10 points even if a few items on the checklist are missing if the story is compelling enough. To everyone reading - Feel free to use the checklist if you wish.

Thanks ever so much.  I must put this in my notebook. By your standard this example would be a very poor bouncy. Seems like considering the sheer volume of lost job tales, we might develop a separate category.

Not all lies are bouncies, but all bouncies are lies.

This is not so much in the "bouncy" realm, since the conclusion MUST result in a conservative/repuke slinking off having been bested.

This is just simple lying and bragging.

A recounting of an imaginary encounter (portrayed as fact) by a liberal moonbat between themselves and a conservative in which the latter usually displays some exaggerated, stereotypical speech or behavior that the liberal defines as repugnant in some way. It may also involve a "conversion", in which the (usually lifelong) conservative reaches an epiphany, realizes the error of his or her ways, and instantly becomes a diehard liberal as a result.

That is the best explanation of a bouncy I have found.  :-)

A lot of states are right to work states and I'm betting the DUmmy is loving and or working in one. In which case neither the employee or employer has to give notice of termination or a reson for it. Sounds like the employer did what the DUmmie didn't expect and terminated their ass in this wonderfull Nobama economy.

I would have loved to hear that conversation.  Dummie (fully expecting boss to ask why & with a bulging list of grievances) "Boss I'm giving you two weeks notice".  Boss (knowing dummie) "By"  "Oh..ahhh..I need you to leave your stapler with Mary in Admin....Thaaat would be greaaat".
