Adidas SCRAPS 'outrageous' new trainers with orange 'shackles' after racism row

A racism row has forced Adidas to scrap its plans for a pair of trainers with ‘shackles’.

Critics had compared the 'JS Roundhouse Mids', to be released in August, to the chains worn by black slaves in the 19th century.

Now the sportswear giant has cancelled the launch of the Jeremy Scott-designed footwear and apologised for causing any offence.

I don't know about you, but I took one look at the shoes and laughed.

If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

I think they would have been big sellers with people wanting to make a political statement.

I find it hard to believe they were ever serious. Just look at the things! I'm too lazy to tie my shoes and I'm going to hook up these stupid, plastic shackles every time I put my shoes on?

I mean, "C'mon!"

Every ghetto mom in the country had already sold her foodstamps to get those $350 monstrosities for her kids.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

They should market those to men who are engaged to be married.

I wear nothing but Nike (When working out), so this means nothing to me. I do find it funny that people are going all ape shit over it, though  :lmao:

^I am considering ape to be added to my list of banned words. Macaca is already on there, so all the primates might have to go in there.

edit for expedition

As for the topic, shackle is safe, it is so closely spelled to sheckel, and if mentioned quickly might tend toward homonymity.

edit for rerail

There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
