We know 3 of them would rule pi=3.0 if obozo told them to do so.  1 on the fence but would probably vote if it was rounded to 3.14 (but based on the questioning I am pretty sure it will go 6-3).

The Supremes are normally very cautious about overstepping the question presented, it therefore seems unlikely to me they'd toss it all.  Even if the provision tossed makes the entire house of cards collapse, they basically regard that as a problem for Congress to solve, not them.  I think it'll be 5-4 to toss the single provision, but it is also quite possible for Obama to win this one 5-4, too.

None taken, but I had to read a lot of Supreme Court cases getting that JD cum laude and then an LLM.  There is a culture of its own the Court follows in these matters, and that is the basis of my guess, but it is certainly possible they will step away from their normal judicial conservatism in a particular case...Obama's attempts to demonize and intimidate them with his BS about it being 'Unprecedented' and other shenanigans may alienate some of the centrists to the point of wanting to see him put him in his place.

I could see that but, if they don't dump the whole thing, I think they see this thing degenerating into 2600+ individual suits coming at them.  Also, there's the severability issue.
