I'm very encouraged by the decision this week basically sticking it up SEIU's ass.  Especially the 7-2 split.

Well, congress and Nancy P. didn't bother to read it so I wonder if the judges read all 2700 pages of the BS that was supposed to be about healthcare?

Yep, that's how I read it too. I like this:

The court reinforces that individuals can simply refuse to pay the tax and not comply with the mandate.

I expected them to split the baby in some way or other, it's a little bizarre that they validated the mandate as a tax after the Administration specifically disavowed that basis in their argument.

Not only that but if it was a tax then the SCOTUS wasnt supposed to able able to rule on it until 2014, they are all over the place today with contradictions.

Anyone think Roberts did this to force O into a broken promise, specifically not to raise any taxes on anyone who makes under $200K?

Even if he was, it's the wrong damn decision. Where does the fed's power stop now? How long before a law is passed that requires you to buy a Volt or pay higher taxes? Convert your house to solar? How long until they require us to submit grocery receipts to prove we buy healthy food?

That part would would only apply to people who used their own earned money to purchase food.  No reciepts required if it is EBT money.

It's a great ploy.  The people that make money will be taxed out of it, and then we will level down with the people that haven't been making money and depend on the govt.   People need to be on notice, this is what apathy and self-involvement gets you.  Stop living in your I-phone app bubble, and see what the hell is going on around you!  Get your ass out and vote.  Do something!

JK--i agree with everything you've said here. Like I said, what this does is destroy the middle class more. For all their class envy, the ones that are middle class are taxing themselves right into a lower financial reality since all of this isn't going to put them in a higher financial reality that's for sure.
