That's "John F'n Kerry, who served in Vietnamtm"

Quote
They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.

What a guy that John F'n Kerry is.

Very true, Cindie.

A good friend spent 20 years in the Marine Corps.  His retirement was going to roughly coincide with Obama's inauguration in 2009, so his CO ensured that his discharge certificate was signed by President Bush, not by Obama. (Forgive the verbage, probably the wrong military lingo used above)

I did the same thing for my own retirement--I timed it so it would be signed by President Bush and not by Obama.  I found out later that it is your right to have your certificate of retirement signed by any president that was president during your years of service--maybe, though, they must be a still living president.  I'm not sure about all the details.

I friend of mine just retired this month after 20 years of service in the navy. He didn't want his certificate signed by Obama (he wanted Bush's signature as well) and was told that he has no choice.

Maybe I heard wrong.  I can't remember where I heard it--maybe it was from a sea lawyer.

He told me that they told him the reason he couldn't have Bush's signature was because the signature has to come from the current active commander in chief. He told me he wishes he would have been able to retired before Bush left office now.

Tell your buddy to wait till 1/21/2113, then he wont have to deal with a Obama signature.

Sometimes you don't get to choose your retirement date.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Well, then hope you will like your cuts to Veteran benefits if he's elected...

You mean like no COLA increases for retirees, jacking up TRICARE premiums, VA times slower than ever, and GI Bill payments that are in some cases a YEAR behind?

Kinda like that, DUmmies?

I have, but that's only because I interviewed a soviet defector for a class project once.  And even he'd tell you he was fighting for "the Rodina", not for the "promise of a world socialist union".

Smaller pay increases, massive budget cuts, MASSIVE (probably suicidally so) manpower cuts, cancelling programs, increasing all manner of things we're required to pay for, etc.

For Gallup's info, this veteran voted for Romney just hours ago given the choices.  I'll post the choices I was given if anyone is interested.
