As many of you know, I'm not big on prognostication, particularly in elections. I had a sense that 2008 was going to go badly for us, but kept somewhat quiet about it. I DID see and state here that there was a tsunami coming in 2010, and I only missed by degree.....I had no idea that it would be so large, particularly at state and local levels......Democrats lost over 800 seats nationally, and became "endangered species" in a good number of states.
I'm seeing a similar situation developing among the electorate again.......it's subtle, but definitely there, and although the media and the major pollsters are attempting valiantly to spin it, there is no question that "something" is coming in November.
Therefore, I thought I'd start a "legacy thread" that we can continually update as this presidential season rolls along, and chronicle for all to see the elements of defeat of an inexperienced, ineffective, egotistical, narcissistic politician, that but for a fluke of fate, would still be handing out pamphlets on a south Chicago street corner today......
I invite all members to post their thoughts as events unfold, therefore we have all the elements archived when the election happens for even the DUmmies to see as to why their candidate failed, and failed miserably.
I'll start with a couple of big mistakes that will cost Obama substantial numbers of votes in the fall;
1. Spiking the football on the Osama assassination........cost him a lot of veteran, military and military family votes that he might have gotten, had he just kept his ego in check, his mouth shut, and gave the military credit for the accomplishment.
2. Flip-flopping on gay marriage.....as I discussed in another thread, this move has no upside for him, and will only cost him votes, the numbers may be small, but in a close race, every vote counts........not only that but he thumbed his nose at the fine citizens of North Carolina (who voted for him before).
As things roll along, feel free to add your thoughts.......
As an afterthought.....I don't think the November election will even be close.......I'm gonna call an 8 - 10 point spread. Let's see if I'm right........
