All these references to Office Space made me want to watch it again. I'm watching it right now on Netflix.

...someone is taking my office

This is political and was manipuated by the person who is taking what should be my office.

I was crushed, heartbroken, and felt betrayed. How could the guys I've worked so hard for for years either treat me this way, or not care enough that they let it happen?

...it wouldn't be so much an office to me as a slap in the face.

I was pretty upset.

I told her I don't want to make waves but that I thought I'd better resign.

...it's too much.

I've cried and cried and thought about it all weekend...

...part of me wants to resign and leave tomorrow...

My career seems over, no matter what I do.

...go in for a week or two, and if you can't handle the emotional turmoil, give your notice.

Maybe I'll get upset & say things I regret, if I stay.

I'm so hurt and feel so betrayed.

They like me, I like them. I thought. What the hell happened.

Any advice?

A few pointers:

  • Quit your damn whining.  You lost office space, not your income stream, so shut the **** up and be grateful you still have a paycheck during your lord and savior's reign.  If it were me, DUmmie, and I found out your affiliation with the DUmp, your ass would have been sent LWOP on the day of barry big ears' coronation.  IE - you would have really had something to cry about.
  • Successful employers are not participation trophy organizations; welcome to the real world.  If you lose a bigger office to another person, chances are you are not that valuable.  If that is the case, then you better cowboy the **** up and figure out what you have to do to be better.  Being this big of a whiner over an office is more than likely an indicator of how much of a pain in the ass you truly are.

If that doesn't work for you, there is one more solution:

"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

Ya damn druggie  :whistling:

I dropped a cinder block on my foot this morning about 6:30 or so. Looked for my bottle of Aleve. Couldn't find it but I did find my Methadone. So I took it,what the hey it was prescribed for pain.

No Office space though listened on the radio to some folks talking about the tornado damage recovery/cleanup in Oklahoma. They've had so many people show up to help it was hampering operations.  there are still a bunch of good people out there.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

One time I was sent to the ER by my doctor for something to do with my Autoimmune disease. I got a massive migraine while waiting in the ER. They gave me morphine when I was finially seen by a doctor and it didn't touch my headache. They kept giving me more and it didn't work.  So I asked for ibuprofen. 30 minutes later my migraine was gone.

I can't believe I just freaking read all of that.

I just wasted a few minutes of my life.

These two "drugs" attack pain differently or at least that is my understanding. Morphine works by blocking pain receptors at the brain, not sure if that works for pain in the brain.  Ibuprofen attacks pain by relieving swelling at the source. Could be that works better on brain pain. I used to wait to take Ibuprofen but now take it at the first sign of joint and muscle pain. The sooner, IMHO and anecdotal, the sooner the irritation is relieved which causes less damage so I heal quicker. Might just be because I believe in it but it works for me not to wait.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I lost my corner office one time.  A new account manager relocated to our area to accommodate his wife's new job, and he would be working out of our office from now on.  Since he was an account manager and needed a "nice" office in which to have clients in, he got my corner office since we lowly Business Analysts were lower on the totem pole.  He was a real ass about it, busting in my still current office while I was in the middle of a conference call, so he could measure space for his credenza.  Didn't knock or anything.  Didn't wave hello or mouth an apology for his rudeness.

So...I moved to my smaller office, which was fine.  But not before crumbling a cookie in the corners and along the baseboard of the office before I left it.

I was soooo sympathetic as he told me about how awful it was to come in every morning to find ants marching across his keyboard.

I've worked in offices that were everything from condemned WW II buildings that would burn to the ground in 2 minutes if they ever caught fire to a connex shipping container wired for internet and lights.

WTF is this DUmmie complaining about. :loser:

Working in that connex box set in a corner of the shop floor - which was only wired for power; I had to provide my own innerwebz/phone links to the outside world - was one of the best, most professional times of my life.  I got more work done there - even with the fab/assembly crews coming in and out all the time for help - than I typically get working in the standard cube farm.

Did you get that memo about the TPS report cover letters ?
