I'd like to see her try that with my dogs. She'd be back to baking.

Some dogs aren't good listeners. My golden is almost 12, not sure if he can't or won't hear me.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

We are proudly owned by Sage the Wonder dog, Redbone extraordinaire.  Sage will be one year old this month, and she enjoys chasing seagulls on the beach, giving slobbery kisses, and eating Dad's shoes.  Many of the tourists in this area pass by our house as they walk to the beach from their rentals, and Sage greats everyone with a wagging tail and a vocal hound dog "Baroooooo!"   She is well known as the town greeter.

She also mistakenly thinks she is a lap dog, despite weighing in at about 65 lbs.

I'd like to see her try that with my dogs. She'd be back to baking.

The ball and chain, errr, wife baked 4 dozen chocolate cookies for a BSA function one time.  She had already let them cool and had put them in a tupperware container.  Feeling somewhat safe in the knowledge that our Labradog at the time (big, 120 pound, happy yellow, mischievous boy) would not eat what he could not smell.

Well, apparently there was a problem with the machines at the Tupperware Plant on the day this particular container was made...

After walking outside for 2 minutes (yes, she timed it) to check on laundry, she came back in to find the container on the floor, open, a big doggie wagging his tail, and 48 cookies gone.

So, it was back to baking; after she kicked the dog's ass, of course.   :-)

Mrs E is fond of telling the story of how a good friend of hers decided to do up a dozen deviled eggs.

The friend left the deviled eggs on the counter and like the good counter-surfer her standard poodle was (since passed on), those disappeared down the gullet most ricky-tick.

We're talking eggs. In a dog. Do the math.

The friend did so, gathered up the dog and a 3-day supply of regular dog food, dropped the dog off at the local kennel and instructed:

"Call me when it's over."

I have two rescue dogs. A Black Lab that is over 13 now (she rules this roost) and a Golden that is almost two (getting close to having brains)

They both are lap dogs. They enjoy chasing the stick and or ball, know how to get in and out of the drift boat and are just generally spoiled.

And, they know how to retrive a bird.

Ya know, I would offer that, if one rescues a dog from a shelter, no matter if it's a Pappilon, it's acceptable--just because of the circumstances of how one obtained the dog.

A pappilon:

If one was obtained from a shelter, it's good, AFAIC.
