The movement that started under King continues.
The movement started under some ambiguous "King" may be continuing, but the movement started under Dr. Martin Luther King is being perverted. As is his dream. Let's look at some things...
Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children. Is it justice when a white man kills a black man and it is called a hate crime while if the races are reversed it is just a crime?
In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline.
We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence.Hasn't it degenerated in physical violence when two black teens set a white kid on fire saying "you deserve it whitey"? Is that a high plane of dignity?
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."If we are going to say all men are created equal don't we have to do away with things like affirmative action as affirmative action is saying that you can't get there by yourself? If we are to stay true to Dr. King's movement and dream shouldn't things like employment and college entrance be determined by merit instead of skin color?
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
Is the dream continuing when you do as Dr. King asks and judge someone by the content of their character (see the DUmp's lord and saviour 0) and are immediately labeled racist?
And is the dream continuing when any black who through his or her own determination decides to become a Republican is labeled an Uncle Tom (and worse) by demonrats?
Dr. King started a great movement and had a noble dream. A dream well worth pursuing. It is a dream and movement that people who claim to respect him, like DUmp members and other libs, are turning into a farce and nightmare.
