No, the big guy advanced five yards, to his own 25-yard-line, with that big strength-draining effort of getting those inserts at the printer's, and then taking them to the newspaper.

I was hoping to get the big guy penalized ten yards, thinking perhaps the advertisements weren't union-printed, but they were, so no foul.  His five-yard gain, getting them done and getting them out.

That's where it's at right now, with the current score being the big guy 0, www.electstevedawes.com 7, with twelve minutes to go in the first quarter.

There's some locker-room problems, though.  I'm not sure exactly what they are, since they're going on in the big guy's own locker-room, but I suspect this is what's happened:

The Sarpy County Democrats, most notably Charlene or Charlotte or whatever her name is, kindly agreed to advise and counsel the big guy on his campaign.  That's part of her job (part-time), and apparently she does okay doing it.  If she's not sure of something, she has access to local, county, and state professional Democrats for answers and solutions.

Maybe a few professional Democrats then advised and counseled the big guy--probably the same advice and counsel franksolich had given him many moons ago--but then the big guy figured no, he knows better than they do, and disregarded all of this well-meant advice and counsel.

After which Charlene and the professional Democrats gave up on him as a hopeless cause.

So Charlotte's out as coach, and it appears nadin's in.

It's going to be an interesting football game.

12. Bellevue had the first trading post in the Nebraska Territory

I live a few blocks from where that trading post stood.

The Bellevue East mascot is a chieftain. They wouldn't give a license to use their trademark even with a payment because I'm a political issue. So I bought a license on the one at the bottom of the flyer.

I'm well known for being a vocal fan at BE basketball and football games.

Because the Air Force base sits against our border, we have an Arrows to Aerospace parade every summer in Historic Olde Towne. Right down Mission Ave., named after the first mission in the area. My ward.

It's got a great response from everybody that has commented on it.

The ad states his campaign paid for it, so he better have receipts for cost.  He is not allowed freebies.  He has to account for every dime.

When I see an insert in a garish color, I figure it's from an exterminator or an overpriced plumber.

I never read it, and I'm mildly irritated I have to throw it away separately.
