Calling it a fee instead of a tax is splitting straws. If I am not mistaken, fees are either paid directly or indirectly by taxpayers. Mitt is shitting in his britches if he thinks anyone is going to fall for that idiocy.

I will vote for him if he is the nominee. I think he can turn the economy around. Do I think he will FIGHT to repeal Obamacare, environmental laws, reduce the size of government, eliminate agencies, promote an aggressive energy policy? Not no but hell no. Mitt is NOT a conservative and anyone that thinks he is has rocks in their head.

No, what's friggen depressing is the fact that the party and the media are picking our candidates for us, and some establishment RINO is outspending his opponents 5-1 or more in states just to get 35-40 percent of the vote because most people have to hold their nose just to pull the lever for him.  Then you have Santorum and Gingrich fighting when one of them dropping out would leave Romney behind, and worst of all, everyone knows it.

If I wanted a mushy middle establishment RINO, why not run McCain again?  Or Bob Dole?

Sorry, FL--call Mitt whatever you want, but you CANNOT call him a conservative.  No way, no how.  Does that mean I won't vote for him?  Oh, I will, but rest assured I don't trust that smarmy ****er as far as I could throw him.  He's pro-abortion, anti-gun, tax and big government statist, with the record to prove it.

And for the record, you idiots who think that you're gonna stay home or vote third party as "protest", look no further than what's happening in the primary to see where your temper tantrum will get you--four more years of Obama.

What did me in for all on either side in the promises and lies of the race to become President was Bush SR. with his  "Read my lips, no new taxes". I did not have a PC at the time and had to rely on nightly news and local news papers.

I was not a young kid at the time and this was the first Presidential race I really paid attention to.  I still had kids in highschool and had time to finally relax and check out what was going on in the world.

Under Clinton my 401K gained huge amounts, lost huge amounts, it was a time of upheaval and shock that in my life time a generation of 6 year old were asking what a BJ was.  The fact that Clinton's first act as president was to sign the Don't ask, Don't tell ,was my first OH-OH moment.   What did the President have to do with the sex lives of our military ???

Some where in there I bought my first PC and could follow both sides of Politics, read both the Liberal and Conservative news papers from around the world. Now I could follow and see on video the actual words spoken at a time and watch them morph into something else as the winds of Politics changed.

Instead of a Chicken in every pot, Obama promissed every one a Pony, what few realised was a Chicken in a pot fed the family, a pony had to be fed by the family, and what good does a Pony do for anyone living on the 4'th floor of a housing project???

Today I feel like  jilted woman who defended a low down cheating MAN.   A lesbian in the making.   All men lie, to get something from woman, sex, their money or their loyalty.

So this field of candidates give me the willies, we want anyone but Obama to become President, but from the looks of it, old boss, worse new boss.

As SEA put it, we may be Doomed, I see no one that can at this time lead us out of the coming chaos., I do not trust any of the GOP to save us from Obama, and Obama will if reelected have free reign to bring America to the life style he grew up with in Kenya.

 Don't buy anything but food, guns and Ammo ,and pay bills from now on, things don't look good at this point in time.   Paranoid, you betcha, show me one, just one leader that is for the People and Country at THEIR expense and I will see honest men who risked it all to benefit our country , not them or their friends.

I think I need to be a little honest here about our Candidates.

First of all, there was 1 Reagan, and I think most of us were lucky to see him and vote for him in our lifetime, I do it too, but we have to stop comparing every candidate to Reagan, that's a heck of a lot of pressure for a person running for office to look up to.

Secondly, like it or not, looks and personality matter, Matt has the looks and I think it's hard for him to connect with people, but that's his personality, then you have Gingrich, sorry, but this is the guy who just a few short years ago was vilified by Republicans/Conservatives, not only for his private life, but for that damn commercial he did with Pelosi, now some view him as the savior of the party...............sorry, I don't think so! to me? he's 1 of the most intelligent people ever, and I'd pay money to see him debate Obama, but he comes across as strange looking, like there's something not right about him, now if I, a Republican feel like that? what the heck would the independents think? but if it came down to it? I'd vote for him if he's the nominee.

Thirdly, Santorum, he's OK, but I have to admit, his extremism and attracting the Evangelicals freak me out a little bit. I consider myself Religious, but the majority of the time I try not to impose my views on others, the Evangelical wing of the party have the attitude that it's their way or the highway, these are the same people who think my Religion is a Cult. Again though, if Santorum won the nomination I'd vote for him.

Bush Sr. Gets a bad rap for that statement. His mistake was trusting the Dem leadership and taking them at their word. He only agreed to raising taxes because the Dem leadership gave him their word that in exchange for agreeing to tax increases the Dem leadership would agree to a dollar for dollar spending cut. the Dem controlled congress raised taxes and didn't even attempt the spending cuts in fact they fought them.  The Dems are not to be trusted , their word ain't worth spit.

The folks all upset about social conservatism ballyhooing such candidates as faux conservatives , neoconservatives etc, that can't win elections are ignoring history and the populous at large

No one is upset about social conservatism issues. That is a figment of your imagination. We all want the same thing and go at it from different angles. I and others think the economy issue is not only more important but is the winning strategy in defeating Obama.
