Saw an ad on TV last night (Food Channel - wife was watching "Chopped") for "Joes Crab Shack" at Red Lobster.

In the ad, 2 male and 1 female "Crab Shack" employees were wearing t-shirts with the 1960's vintage "peace sign" aka "the footprint of the American Chicken".

This symbol was used by stinking hippies who spit on our troops returning from Vietnam, and any restaurant who uses it in their ads does not deserve our business.

They won't be getting any of mine.

Their guest relations phone # is:

Monday - Friday between the hours of 10am - 4pm Eastern time at 800-562-7837

And actually, Joe's Crab Shack is it's own chain, not part of Red Lobster, which is the suck ass in and of itself.

But that's another thread.

You are correct.  Apologies to Red Lobster.  I'll ask a mod to edit the thread title.

Actually never seen the attraction in eating sea bugs like crab and lobster, outside of a camping/survival situation.  To me, what very little flavor they have is a slightly unpleasant hint of pungency, like ammonia.

I actually like crabs...but with a hippie looking wait staff with the footprint of the American chicken on their tye-dyed t-shirts, they probably have the wrong KIND of crabs there.

I certainly won't turn down a bucket of them as long as there's beer to swill with 'em and good company, I just don't think they're worth a premium price to my taste buds.

Heading back next week to see my dad who's in the hospital. I plan on chowing down, but they're probably small since it's early in the season.

A long time ago there was a small creek where we used to catch tons of them in the 4-6" range.  We just threw them in boiling water to cook them, nothing special.

You were thinking Krystal burgers.  I didn't even notice, I was too busy thinking about oysters.  It's tough trying to get Crystal around here.

I have bben to Joe's Crab Shack and if it is the same shirt I saw way back in 2003 then this is whats on the shirt. I saw it as something else not an Homage to the Hippie movement.

There is a Joe's Crab Shack here in Mission Valley but it is very disappointing, small portions and poor quality.  The only thing I like is their fried clams with a cold beer at happy hour.  They also make a nice banana foster dessert.

I love shrimp and lobster.  But I don't care for Joe's Crab Shack.  The single time we ever went there, I thought the food was pretty mediocre for the price.

I love crawdads too.  But I haven't had any in ages.

.
The ones I went to in OC were the ones on PCH in Costa Mesa (?) and there was one on Harbor in Anaheim.  Neither particularly impressed me.

And now that I live in Lobstah Central, I'm even less impressed.
