Oh my.

It's Friday evening; the time for some casual fun from the cooking and baking forum.

1. Oh, this sounds very tasty!

You know, I've been wondering about this primitive.

There was a bicentennial_baby primitive on Skins's island a few years ago, some fat chick who hooked up with the sniffa primitive, the one who used only capital "L"s when he had to use that letter, who was in a committed relationship with another primitive woman.  The other primitive woman's name, I disremember, other than that now she's on Skins's island under a different screen-name, "Phoenix Rising" or something like that.

She became suicidal after the tramp stole the sniffing primitive from her.

So later on other foolishness happened that got both the bicentennial_baby primitive and the two-timing sniffing primitive mausoleumed.

One wonders if this is the same smelly tramp.

3. I have been using some lamb lately

It is amazing how many out here on the plains have never eaten lamb. I serve leg of lamb every Easter at the restaurant, many lamb lovers come for that and many more have tried lamb for the first time then. Last week I participated in a fund raising event where local chefs prepare appetizers and a wine authority pairs wine to the dishes. I served baked pita with edamame humus, a lamb slider, top

I'll try the chili sometime, it sounds good.

franksolich out on the Plains wouldn't touch mutton with a ten-foot primitive.

4. Lamb's one of Dad's favorites.

He's a New Yorker, 98 years old, and somehow lamb got his attention; roast leg of lamb one of his favorite dishes. Was so even after they moved from NYC suburbs, where they COULD cook it on outdoors grill, to Florida, where oven was the only mechanism. I suspect he's not had any in the residence where he's living now, tho.

Lamb is good eating. Mutton (outside the USA) is usually used to refer to the inferior older animals and is more for stewing and cooking in ways that make it palatable.

Good lamb is generally unavailable in the USA.

Lamb curry is actually pretty damn tasty too.

Actually, I've had lamb in two places--never in America--England and the socialist paradises.

I'm not criticizing those who like lamb, but me, I wouldn't have it again.

I've found two different types of lamb at the one store that sells it here.  I forget what the differences are -- age and diet mostly -- but the imported lamb has a stronger flavor than the domestic stuff, which doesn't taste much different from beef.  The imported lamb would probably go well in a chili.

I bought some imported pork shoulder that had been cut into chops.  I ended up cooking it medium well to cut down on the strong taste, but it was still good.

Ewwwwwww! I had lamb 1 time, it was the worst tasting thing ever. Why the heck would anyone ruin chili using it?

Lamb is awesome if its young. I get it from a local farmer. Its nothing like that New Zealand crap! I know when its born and he don't let it get over 120 lbs. I go get it in the back of a van and shave it and bring it to the butcher alive. Fresh lamb chops grilled with fresh thyme and mint!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."
