Another great US healthcare bashing thread.

Off to Serbia

She's originally from there but has been living in Seattle for the past 20 years (loves it).

And no surprise why she's going -- she's ill, and can't afford health care here. Serbia, like the rest of the civilized world, offers no-cost care to its citizens.

What is wrong with us? And WHY can't we get this message through those thick Republican heads?

Lovely woman. I feel sad for her, and ashamed of our "health care" system here.

No surprise the the DUmmie respond with their normal US sucks, and I so embarrassed.

Did any one of them care to check just what is 'health care' in Serbia?

Serbia healthcare

Quote
Serbian healthcare has been severely under-funded for many years and consequently, the standard of healthcare available is of poor quality. Medical staff are well trained; however equipment and facilities let the health system down considerably.

Quote
Prescription medicines must be paid for and doctors charge under-the-table payments for all services.

Wonder what happens if you don't make the under the table payment?

Quote
Doctors are known as doktor and are the first point of contact with the state health system. Citizens can register with the doctor of their choice. Citizens will be charged a fee for each time they visit the doctor.

Quote
Although the health facilities are relatively well staffed with qualified doctor and nurses, the quality of care is below standard, because services are not patient-centred, there is a lack of communication between local doctors and the health centres, and equipment and buildings are in bad condition.

Quote
The conditions in most hospitals are of a low standard. Medicines and basic medical supplies can be obtained from privately owned pharmacies. Hospitals require cash payments for their services, and do not accept health insurance as compensation. This makes medical care difficult for the Serbian citizens to obtain.

Quote
Emergency departments are open non-stop all year. The emergency care services are very expensive and not always an option for poorer citizens.

Sounds like a great example of government run health care.

11. Even after living abroad for 20 years, she'll still be taken care of when she goes home. nt
Yesss, I'm sure she will.
Unfortunately, the cost of shipping her remains back to the states for burial, might very well have covered the cost of her treatment here.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

:cheersmate: Congrads to Scuba Guy! We have just discovered yet another liberal paradise: Serbia!
and you thought medical care in CUBA was the best in the world.
Here we have a gal leaving the greatest couintry on earth to answer the siren call of sweet Serbia!

sure the critics may call it a war torn country...BUT THEY LIE!
Progressives (the fonts of all truth) have raised this innocent country (that never had a civil war) up as a health care becon of hope for the world.

Come my liberal friends. Conservatives are lining up to pay for one way flights to this glorious country resting in the shadow of the quaint, kindly old Soviet Union who's munitions can still be dug up in playgrounds everywhere.
Join the happy smiling people in Sunny Serbian (with whom you will be sharing your new home with). Bring your pets, Serbians love them (they're delicious!).

Oh, how I really do wish DUmmies would lookup the term "Hydraulic empire" and realize how it applies to healthcare.  I'd say liberals, but people like Reid, Pelosi, and Obama are well aware of what they are doing.

So, how about it DUmmie lurkers are you up for the challenge?

Wonder what happens if you don't make the under the table payment?

You die.

I saw a lot of that with my own eyes, in the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants.

You die.

And if one makes an under-the-table payment, it's not cheap, usually higher than what one would pay across-the-table here in the United States, if one pays cash for medical services.

By all means, DUmmie please do encourage your pal to go to Serbia and also please do be a good chap and accompany her there.

In September 2010, German drug company Stada Arzneimittel announced a partial halt in drug sales in Serbia, following fears over the inability of Serbian wholesalers to pay their bills. The current situation arose as state-run Serbian hospitals are either not paying or delaying their payments to wholesalers.

A relative of mine married a girl whose family is from Poland, her Aunt was diagnosed with Cancer, the Aunt was going to go home to Poland until she found out that because of her age treatment would be minimal to nothing compared to the US, so she's staying here.

I extend my $100 "get the **** out of the USA (& renounce citizenship) rebate" to include Serbia. The worker's paradise countries of N. Korea, Venezuela, China, and Cuba are still valid for this offer.

Still waiting for a any DUchebag to take me up on this.

You may have to up the ante.  I heard the Obama administration is now charging a $450 filing fee for those what would like to officially renounce their United States citizenship.

Lovely woman. I feel sad for her, and ashamed of our "health care" system here.

I worked with a woman that was married to a serb.  He was diagnosed in this country with a very rare and fatal form of lung cancer.  Very devistating, he was only 25 at the time.  He got to go to the best specialists in this country, tried a couple of experimental treatments, but it was for naught.  He returned to Serbia to see his family for 1 last time, he died there.  She told me about him being in the hospital, with no pain meds for the pain.  Here, he would have been on a morphine pump and at home with hospice care.  There, she had to change the sheets, bring him food and water, (the water in the hospital was not working all the time every day). But, it was paid for.  So I guess that is the point the bats are trying to get across.

Let her go to Serbia.  good luck with that, as long as she is healthy.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

It strikes me that this $450 is a virtual "Berlin Wall" type of thing.

You know 0 said he wanted to reverse all of Reagan's progress. I guess putting a wall to keep Americans in is a very meta way of crossing that Rubicon with dots.

That isn't anything new.  The United States is one of only two countries with a captive workforce.  Most other countries don't care about what you make while working in another country.  Here, the IRS goes after citizens who have lived in another country their whole lives and don't even know there US citizens.

James Cameron bought land in New Zealand and is moving out of the US. Although he is Canadian, he doesn't like paying high US taxes either.  I read earlier that wealthy US citizens are renouncing their citizenship in record numbers under Obama.
