Gingrich campaign may challenge Florida primary resolts

Florida primary might not be a done deal

The Newt Gingrich campaign is gearing up to challenge the results of the Florida Republican presidential primary based on the Republican National Committee's own rules which state that no contest can be winner-take-all prior to April 1, 2012.

It was assumed that Mitt Romney, who won Tuesday's contest, would gain all 50 of the state's delegates. But the Gingrich campaign plans to challenge Florida's allocation and demand the delegates be divvied up proportionally.

Amen.

So much for having our candidates act like the adults in the room.

You'd think that the big-name press pukes who spent so much time building this up as a 'Winner take all' event might have actually taken the time to figure this out before acting like excited chimps on Red Bull all night Tuesday.

It's all about getting Romney the nomination. I'm sure a few of them knew about this, but hyped it as the "WINNER TAKES ALL! EVERYONE ELSE MIGHT AS WELL DROP OUT AFTER FLORIDA!...unless Newt wins". They went on and on about how Romney 'won' in Iowa in order to give him a boost in New Hampshire and South Carolina, but only after a few days did they mention as an afterthought that Santorum really won there.

The media wants Romney because he will be the easiest for Obama to run against.

If Newt wins this (and I think he might), then I wouldn't expect much out of the media since the damage has been done and they will have moved on to the next "If Romney wins the primary in X, then it's all over" stories.

Trump had said before that if one of the current candidates didn't measure up to his ideals of conservatism then he would run .  Romney is no conservative, so Trump must not be either. He is a Trumpist.

Trump just endorsed Romney today.

I never expected Trump to endorse anyone but Mitt. Both are very rich egotistical Yankees. If Newt had won FL, this jerk would have endorsed him.

Trump brings name recognition and money to the table. He is also saddled with a bunch of negatives like the 4 bankruptcies. One of those being his Atlantic City Casino. That is pretty bad when he can not run a casino and make a profit. This caused bondholders, contractors, banks and investors holding the bag. The debt was restructured several times. Another property in Atlanta may go next. Not good business acumen, and he has ideas of how to get our economy going again. Wow. Obama must be laughing his ass off at the thought of the Donald gumming up the Republician Party. .
