I think it's because it comes so naturally to them:

What is with all the hate directed toward Paula Deen?
Is it because she's obese. Is is because she speaks with a southern accent? I just don't get it. I think when you make a recipe containing twinkies, sugar, and cool whip you pretty much know what you're getting yourself into.

7. I hate that she says y'all every other word, and I cannot STAND

when she mashes things up with her hands, and she's wearing about eight gigantic gaudy rings while she's doing it. I really skeeve that. I think there's something going on with her and Smithfield hams, and how those pigs are raised for slaughter. And also, she's announcing that she's diabetic while at the same time becoming a paid spokeswoman for Big Pharma diabetes medicine.

I don't hate her, though. I pretty much never watch her show.

8. none of the above

It's because

1) she promoted unhealthy food while hiding her disease for three years

2) she has contracted with Big Pharma to hawk a diabetes drug that carries the strongest FDA warning about cancer risk and will make big bucks from it

3) she is anti-worker; a spokesperson for Smithfield (a company that treats its workers like shit and sells unhealthy food).

That's three reasons, none of which have anything to do with her personality or body shape.

It's the hypocrisy and the crass commercialism.

45. She's a Shill For One of the Worst Companies On Earth

She promotes Smithfield "Farms" hams.

To endorse that company is morally unforgivable.

That corporation practices animal cruelty on a massive, staggering, systematic scale. That corporation molests the environment wherever it spreads its foul tentacles.

And if you hate animals and/or the environment or think it's passe to care about them, Smithfield hates humans, too. Their treatment of their workforce is shameful.

So, in summary, she takes money from a corporation that brings more misery, suffering, and ecological damage to the world than the mind can comprehend.

I can provide pictures, if you would like, but I don't think you would like (they're hard to look at, but if you're going to innocently wonder about this woman, you should be able to look at what she supports and has attached her name to).

I wish all bad things on this woman.

Snake Alchemist also questioned the anti-christian bigotry at DU.

Now he defends a purveyor of fatty foods.

Whoa, Judy! Unhealthy food?

Remember, Judy was going to GIVE union schoolteachers and government drones all the pie they could stuff down their pieholes.

Sounds to me like ol' grasswire Judy was setting herself up as the Typhoid Mary of diabetes.

And she's still hiding her addled behavior.

DUchebags = Hate + Hypocrisy + Ignorance

Uh, ham is for Easter. All other holidays, including Arbor Day, Columbus Day, and my birthday, call for turkey.

Prime rib, or salmon, is a better holiday option than turkey for all holidays other than Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I personally don't like ham.  I have issues with sweet meat.

We rarely go much more than a week without having both some cut of pork and salmon.

The hours it takes to prepare a turkey, and the fantastic taste, make it seem a lot more like a special dinner.

And then there's the leftovers for the next couple of days.

Man, that makes me hungry.

I'm ready for a Valentine's Day turkey.

She has a southern accent and unashamedly promotes southern culture. That's enough to send any DUmmy into a mouth-foaming fit of hate, even the Southern ones.

That and the fact that she has a lot of money that rightfully belongs to them.

Obviously none of them saw the episode of her show where she had Jimmy Carter on as a guest and how she gushed on and on about him being the greatest president ever.  I began turning to another channel whenever she came on after that.

More power to her for being able to make a buck from her schtick.

Don't get a sugar cured ham then.  Try different cooking methods.  Get a real smithfield ham, hint they're in a cloth bag

We went traditional and had goose for Christmas dinner.

You know, the American diet used to be healthier, prior to the rise and popularization of fast food.

Up through the mid-1960s, the American diet as pertains to meat, was circa one-third beef, one-third pork, and one-third poultry.  For those 50 and above, think about what your mothers used to prepare, and how often.  This statistic looks pretty realistic to me, a more-varied diet.

Well, it's all different now, and beef rules.

Even though I come from a major beef-producing state, well, I had my fill of beef and pork by the time I was 10 years old, enough to last the rest of my life.  I'll dine on one or the other once in a while, but probably 90-95% of the meat in this diet is.....poultry.

Well the diet has something to do with it. The getting off their butts is another issue now. We as a society are pretty lazy.

There's another reason why liberals hate Deen: Because she helped further reveal what a colossal hypocrite Michelle Obama is.
When Moo- chelle was a guest on Deen's show, Deen later said that she had never seen anyone eat so much, that Moo- chelle kept right on stuffing her swinelike face with Deen's creations even during the breaks for commercials.
Basically, Deen confirmed what most of us already know about Moo- chelle's hypocrisy: She gives frequent, long- winded speeches about how regular Americans should eat nothing but tofu, dried fruit, and raw vegetables in the name of "Fighting child obesity," then goes and gorges herself on massive quantities of junk food every opportunity she can get.
Ultra- liberals never like when someone exposes the hypocrisy of one of their political idols or groups they support, and thus are filled with hatred towards such people (i.e. Joe the Plumber, the people who nailed ACORN in the sex- trafficking sting).

When a president takes office, someone gives his wife a long list of "causes", and asks her to decide the what her crusade will be. Ladybird picked highway beautification, Betty Ford was drug abuse, Laura Bush was literacy, Hillary was Hillary, etc, etc.

Anyway, when they gave that list to the Wookie, she checked "childhood obesity" purely by accident, because alphabetically it was between "chicken and dumplings" and "chili cookoff".
