Ok, totally non-judgmental question.  What is it like to be addicted to cigarettes?  I have never even tried it although when my brother smokes and comes back in the house I can literally taste it. It makes me want to vomit. I can't understand enjoying it at all.

You definitely need to "learn" how to like cigarettes. The desire to look cool, and badass, and all that juvenile shit completely overwhelms the "Shitfire, these things taste like a forest fire in my mouth."

On the other hand, there ain't nothin' quite like the taste of a cigarette after a meal. Or with a beer. Or after sex. Or when getting up in the morning.

It's a slippery slope and goes downhill real fast.  :whatever:

Alright, most women like to shop, right? Imagine the feeling of wanting to go shopping one day x 1,000,000,000. Especially if one hasn't had one for a fair bit. I personally get the shakes, can't think straight, get a queasy stomach, and get very irritable. It's a horrible feeling, and I wish I never started. However, you asked for an honest answer. There you have it.

Also, nobody really LIKES the flavor of inhaling a smoke, I don't think. They may like the additive flavors somewhat, but not the orininal, let's say full flavor Marlboro. It's not really an aquired taste. It's basically the same thing as why some shoot whiskey. They don't particularly care for the straight whiskey. They just like the after effects.

I posted this somewhere in the DUmpster, and Frank answered thus:

Alas, madam, I was kind of disappointed about this.

I was envisioning using a real vaporizer, one of those things one puts on the floor that shoots out steam when one has a cold.

I was hoping it was something along that line; that one put some sort of nicotine mixture where one usually puts a daub of Vicks Vapo-Rub.

I have no idea if this would affect the cats too, but decided to wait first to see what this was.

I guess I'll just have to stick with the awkward old-fashioned method.

Jake, do you get a good plume of vapor with the Volcano?  Is that one push button or automatic?
That really is a huge advantage.  You can use it anywhere in the house without disturbing others.  It doesn't get into fabrics or your hair.  There's none of the dirt associated with ashtrays and ash, there's no fire, so you can leave it to go do something, or use it reading in bed, etc.  Use it while cooking.  If you need a quick fix but are very busy, you can take a drag or two, and not waste time and money by lighting up a real one and stubbing it out.

It's automatic, no button and yes I think it's pretty good.  I haven't tried any other brand so I have nothing to compare it to but I like it.

Badcat, that Tornado Tank looks interesting, thanks for the link.  The starter kit is only $39.99!  (Note to others, do not pay $99 for anything.)  I'm wondering, that site sells liquid that's only tobacco flavored.  Can you use any other liquid, like the Dekang stuff, or is it special to the Tornado?

You can use any liquid you like.
My wife smokes menthols, so in her Tornado, she mixes tobacco and spearmint liquids together.

Physiologically, smoking tobacco is near to being the perfect drug.  The nicotine attaches to available receptors.  Tired?  The nicotine will 'wake' you up.  Nervous/anxious?  Nicotine will attach to the receptors that make you feel calmer.  There are more ways that it interacts with our bodies based on what we need, but you get the idea.

Really complicates the quitting process, but as many have proven - it is possible.

I loved smoking.  Even now 13 years after quitting it calls to me constantly.  I know if I smoke 1 I will be at a pack a day in a week.  It is like a shitty little demon inside your head that promises you that all of your ills will be taken care of the moment you light another one up.  It is so freaking stupid though.  Who in their right mind would take a bunch of weeds and chemicals, grind them up , put them in a flamable tpaper tube, set the tube on fire and then purposely inhale the smoking fumes?  It makes no sense at all.
All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.

It started for me as it did a lot of people...  Trying to look cool in High School.  Then it just becomes a habit.  Now I look forward to it, especially after a meal, after waking up, driving, and sex.  I actually look forward to it, I love the taste, love the feeling, love it all.  I will however say I can't stand the smell and even though I am a smoker if I haven't smoked in a few hours and someone that just smoke walks near me the smell is horrendous.  I know I need to quit and I have a few times before and will again but for now I am to addicted.

Word.  I have seen the finest looking man before but when I got close to him, he stunk so bad that it totally was a turnoff.  I have walked through a cloud of smoke (people hanging out in front of stores) and I can smell the smoke hours later in my hair.  I never realized how bad it made one stink until I quit.  It's really awful.

Yeah, even as I smoker I realize how bad it smells.  I may soon enough turn to an e-cig.

If the smell is offensive to you, you really should try this.  There is no smell.  No dirt.  The prices have come way way down in the last couple years, and they keep improving the product.  I would try Badcat's Tornado and gamble the $40.

Frank, not sure why you pictured that.   :???: :lmao:  You can't flood your house with nicotine vapor, silly!  You need to breathe it in directly.  The cats don't need that stuff.

No.

Seriously.

I was hoping that was what it involved.

I placed an order.

I was going to order the Volcano but I really wanted to try something 1st before putting out a lot of money, I googled and came up with this brand, what I like about it is you can order a 3 pack, no charging, and each e-cigarette is equivalent to 2 packs.

Since this discussion I have been something a BLU Disposable that I purchased at Walgreen's.  It's ok, I will probably order one of the nicer ones from the website you just ordered from in a week.
