Why would anyone think Ted Kennedy was anything short of a saint?

Fought for the poor, fought against Vietnam, fought fought fought

Yet, there are a ton of self-described "liberals" who think he was a bastion of self-gratification

Chappaquiddick, that was over 40 years ago

Let, it, go....

If that is the worst thing a man has on his conscience, he did pretty well...

7. The only thing he did wrong was cheat on his wife

Honestly, I'd rather have someone who cheats on their wife, but stays on our side, than someone who shows fidelity, and ****s us all over.

Dubya never cheated on his wife, but he cheated on US.

10. Let them. Teddy cheated on his wife, nothing more.

OK - you're in a car, having fun, and you end up in the water. This can happen easier than you think. He survives, she does not. Is that his fault?
She should have taken swimming lessons according to tavie.

He's such a douchebag.  The combination of tequila and Jim Beam (according to Tav) inspired that post.

He was a fat, disgusting, amoral pig of a man, possessed of great wealth and afforded totally-undeserved good will, both the legacy of the deaths of his three much smarter brothers.  He did have a certain sense of noblesse oblige toward the peons, but only so long as he could address it with public monies, not his own.

If I recall correctly Fat Ted also was involved in a little thing between him and Chris Dodd and a waitress? Then there is that little thing about his body guards running loose in DC with illeagle MP5 submachineguns that would have netted anyone of us a 20+ year stretch in a Federal prison. I'm sure that Taverner is ok with the fact Fat Ted went over to Russia to see how he could backstab a sitting President over our National Security.

Agreed, wholeheartedly.

"Hypocrisy" was Vast Teddy's middle name.

Joe taught them well.
Nothing more.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

The worst part was she didn't drown, she suffocated.

That worthless piece of shit (which is an insult to shit.  Even shit has a use.) wandered up and down the road for almost 12 hours before he even called the police!

He then proceeded to lie his ass off and use his last name to keep himself out of prison.  But it kept him out of the White House, too.

Nothing more.

The irony in all this is the Kennedy family is representative of the 1% they hate: they are spoiled, amoral with regards to their own wealth and especially their behavior, pigs when it comes to their treatment of women unless they are a sainted Kennedy wife and then you will still get cheated on, and they thwarted the law for decades to accumulate the wealth they have to begin with. Why the idiots who are invested in something like occupy would ever think the Kennedy's are 'one of them' is beyond me. Same thing with Soros. Many rich liberals are the epitome of the kind of swindler they wish to oust, but they gladly lay down as bedfellows with them. Mostly I think it's because they are morons unaware of history and some are just plain evil--taking sides with people they really find objectionable to their own ends. I certainly know that's the only reason rich liberals lay down with the occupoopers.

Ted Kennedy was a murderer, plain and simple.  Compared to that, I suppose you could characterize lying, scamming, drunken public debauchery, cheating on his wife and so on as "minor flaws".  :bird: :fuelfire:

He was a disgusting pig of a man who never bothered to admit he left Mary Jo in that car to die.  I wonder how many of his professed fans would have been okay had he done that to THEIR daughter.

The same people who think of Teddy as a saint, were the same people who blasted Bush for a DUI that resulted in a traffic ticket, and no injuries or deaths, from 20 years before the election.
