Boycott Black Friday?

http://occupywallst.org/forum/black-friday-boycott /

"Black Friday is coming up, so I propose that we have a nationwide general strike of consumerism on the one day of the year that is all about mindless consumption. Corporations rely on Black Friday to boost sales figures, so they are going to expect us to flock to their stores and buy their products. I say we give them a nasty surprise.

We have a golden opportunity to hit the big corporations where it hurts, and I don't think we should pass it up. Let's take a day that is all about consumption and make it our own, and let's make it loud and clear that we will not support the corporations that destroyed our economy and undermined our Republic.

What do you guys think? How should this Black Friday Boycott work?"

I'm pretty certain that retailers factor in a 'loser boycott' in all their holiday business plans.

Just like the banks factor in losing all the accounts that are overdrawn, or only have $3 in them when they do the change bank days.  :-)

There has yet to be invented an instrument capable of detecting the differential that a total DUmp boycott of that racist holiday shopping day "Black Friday."

You guys should go to the stores on Black Friday around 6pm.  No one is there and most of the deals are still available.  I'll be going to Walmart on Black Friday... just after dinner.  :)

I have an aunt that's a black-belt in Black Friday shopping.  I'd just loooooooove to see anyone get in her way of her favourite day.  I got dizzy watching that vid...."Give something meaningful ...like feed someone in Somolia for a year.". :thatsright:

A job right now would be nice...I'd take one from one of those corporations.   Holy!

Even if this (Yet another "Not a Damn Dime" day protest) doesn't turn out to be just another crock from the Internet tough guys on DU, I'd imagine they'd account for less than 1/100th of 1% of the business on Black Friday.

Ole Diesel will probably be working, having a sandwich of leftover turkey and saving the beer for later that evening.

DUmmies "not one damned dime" days and "boycott black Friday" will have the same effect on our economy as Donald Trump loosing a penny would have on his financial well being.

I have a better idea.  DUmmies need to stand inside the doors and block everyone coming into every major retailer on Black Friday.

Every Walmart, every Target, Kohl's, Lowe's, etc.  Just a few of you at each store will be sure to hold back the rush of humanity at each location.

And if you get trampled and shit-stomped, well, we'll think about ya--and laugh.  Win-win for the world.

I could just see the DUmmies chanting their stupid little rants, "HEY HEY HO HO BLACK FRIDAY HAS GOT TO GO!"  I'd pay to see them get knocked over once the doors are unlocked.

I've never gone out on black friday.
Ever.
Might make an exception this year just to piss of DUmpmonkeys.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I tried mid morning last year.  I walked in to one store, saw the line wrapping around the aisles, and walked right back.  My time is more valuable than that.
