Here's the problem they are having with the charity dummies. These are individuals who have CHOSEN to be out there in the 'cold' and be 'hungry'. Why should someone who has chosen to sit out on a street corner for their beliefs be furnished with food intended for people who really need it because they don't have the resources with which to obtain it? It is selfish what these people are doing by seeking out the charities. As much as a stickler food banks get in, especially during this time of year, they are STEALING resources from individuals who truly are needy. Unfortunately one of the reasons safety nets have become 'needed' is because people without ethics or integrity like your own demtenjeep and these protestors access resources meant for those truly destitute and they do it for the most selfish reasons of all: just to save themselves pennies for things they WANT versus what they NEED. And sitting on the street corner to pressure businesses to the point you use up your last dollar sent by mom and dad is a WANT, not a need. Many of those individuals could quite easily pull up the tents and go home and not tap both the local, state, federal, and charitable resources just because they want to hang out on the corner. IMO, ZERO help should be going of any government related money anyway since the explicit goal of these individuals is to upset that very order that they are taking the handout from.
Here's an idea...how about one of those trust fund kids sitting out there dig deep in their pocket and furnish the resources for this little shindig to continue if they really believe in it so much? I like traditions like Thanksgiving and Christmas but I don't ask other people to fund my long standing traditions just cause I wanna do them. Of course this self-reliance and integrity when it comes to backing ones own beliefs is not evident with any of those human disasters sitting out there calling for the downfall of that which keeps many of them in the comfort they are used too when not stomping their feet to be part of something they consider relevant in history.
