Funny you should bring up taxation without representation, considering that is exactly what you want to do to corporations. You not only want to tax them to death, you want to make it so they can't lobby to try to protect their interests.

Suggested reading for the DUmmy - Edmund Burke on the difference between a representative and a delegate...not that the DUmmy would be able to cope, Burke may have been a whig but have some sense.

Lurking DUmmies,why is it so difficult to grasp that a representative is elected by a majority in their district.
It means that he/she is most likely voting for the beliefs of their constituants.
If they stop doing that or are found to have been dishonest in their campaigns as to how they will act they get voted out (nadin the name Alan Grayson if you need to research that).

Not when you keep electing them. Here is the difference between the Tea Party and you OWies. The Tea Party got people together to vote as a group to get those congressmen and women who weren't doing what their constituents wanted out of office. It's called working with in the system. You OWies just want to sit around and bitch and moan and hope that other people will do what you want.

Well, I've been taxed without representation for a long time since my representatives in congress (Mike Honda) and the senate (Boxer and Feinstein) stand for pretty much everything I'm opposed to.

Just because you don't get your way doesn't mean you're not represented.  In every election where there are more than one candidate and more than one position on the issues, someone will "feel" unrepresented.  It's part of living in a republic, and it would be true if we voted directly on every single issue as well.  What's more unfair than being misrepresented from time to time is having people that receive more government assistance than they pay in be represented at all.  The founders KNEW that this exact situation would kill the country.
