I work in a funny place.

The Day-Shift is all right wing, all the time.
They work 7am to 3pm.
Must be because they get to go home and watch hours of the Fox News direct injection of Republican talking points in prime-time.
Baby.

The swing shift is mostly liberal and decidedly more productive than the day shift.
We are up late at night drinking and doing other evil things.

Getting up so early to be at work at 7am has to be a factor, but I don't know.
But they spend all day talking about shit like this...

"Hey do you know that big shopping area/flea market and country music place on 430 something?"
"Yeah, that's a nice place"
One of them looks at me and says that I am probably not going to be interested in this BUT!!!
"Herman Cain is going to be speaking there next month!"
This conversation is taking place in our office, in a managers office no less, as I am talking to another manager.
So here I am.
A manager in a professional setting, talking to fellow managers when I declare that they indeed would vote for "a steaming turd as long as it had a (R) after it's name"
I mumbled as I walked away in shock, "And I'll buy the Godfathers pizza for you to put that steaming turd on".
They really liked that line for some reason.

So much racism in that one post, first of all his DU name is racist, give me my country back, that is code for bringing back slavery, secondly he is calling a black man, Herman Cain, a turd, and what color are most turds? There's a couple of things in this post that flags it as possibly false.

The first is that the DUmmie has a job. Unusual.

Then he claims: "The swing shift is mostly liberal and decidedly more productive than the day shift."

I'm not sure that "productive" and "liberal" can be used factually when work is involved.

My oh my, mmm mmm mmm... They certainly are becoming more and more bitchy as  the impending reality of 2012 draws closer every day.

I've said this before but why not.

Hey DUmmies! It doesn't matter who the republicans run against the O'ster in 2012. Could be Cain, could be Palin, Perry, Bachmann, West, doesn't really matter. The O'ster is in the toaster.

At this point the republicans could exhume Richard Nixon's corpse to run against THE ONE and you all know deep down in your guts that Nixon would win.

Nixon, even a dead Nixon, would administrate a better presidency than your boy. (I'd vote for him too).

Well, considering that most D's in Congress are in fact steaming turds, I'd say, "You first!"

And having worked on a day shift and a back shift, it's been my experience that the QUALITY of work on the back shifts can decline rapidly with fewer "eyes" (read: managers, quality control, etc.) to the point where day shift is fixing all the backshift ****ups.  But hey, that's just my experience.  YMMV.

Some places do a little better when there's a little more oversight, but not too much.  Kinda hard to move at 100 mph when you've got 5 folks "helping" you.

Last job I had where I was on second shift, we were more productive than first shift, I don't know the political views of each shift though.  :-)

I should mention though, the main reason we were more productive was that most of the trucks came in during the late afternoon and evening leaving us more work to do.
