This nation's oldest continuous seagoing military service!

221 years old and counting!!

I thought we weren't supposed to denigrate our armed forces here. Guess I was mistaken.

"Semper Paratus" is a really great march, always loved it.  Version at the link is a bit over-orchestrated for my taste, but there are plenty of other versions there.

Even one of the normally insulting jarheads at the Legion in town said congratulations, and he bought me a beer! I was flabbergasted that he didn't have some snide comment.  :cheersmate:

Unfortunately, it's still left out of many "tributes" and "medlies" to the military services.

Both great, but the fanfare in and out is kinda space filler, I like the short version used in those medleys, which you can find by itself in a version done by the USN Band here:  http://goatlocker.org/sound/navyband/uscg.mp3
