So Halperin called POTUS Dick.... and
we have strikes in Athens... we have a general strike in the UK.... the debt ceiling....
Well... what if he was a dick? Sure, not a nice thing to do... so we are annoyed because he called another MAN a dick? Get a grip folks, there are things a tad more important than the show of mirrors in DC...

MSNBC can do what it did... but the level of distraction over this here is what is maddening. It is the new shiny, and it works like damn clockwork.

So I guess that means he wasn't totally a dick. I don't know. Still seems a bit inappropriate for the editor of a national news magazine. But maybe I'm just being over-sensitive.

21. He's been suspended 'indefinitely' for the remark. And, yes, it
was inappropriate. I imagine, however, that many of them say things off-camera, which he thought his remark would be, that would get them fired if they were to say them on the air. Maybe if they spent their time on actual news, they would be less inclined to sink to these levels on or off camera. I guess I don't expect much from most of them anymore.

a partisan jack off? We have been in that environment since the 1990s... back to the future insofar as the US Media is concerned. It is NOT the first time the POTUS is called names... it used to happen like clockwork in the hearst papers back in the day, before either of us were born by the way. So we have gone back to THAT normal. And I am not surprised either.

Yep I might take issue with Halperin using names on national tv, to use the current outrage... but it does not affect my life one iota. Not solving this little issue with the debt ceiling will affect my life in the most negative of ways.

a country defaulting will affect you personally whether you have credit card debt (which we don't) or not.
Having been in a country that went through that in a much smaller way... I get it.
Know-it-all nadin always gets it.

Can you say less services? Can you say an austerity plan that will make Greece look like a very liberal and progressive system? This is why some in the GOP may want it... after all destroying the safety net is their objective, but a default will make it that much easier.
Take my word on this... you will feel it... and if you work for a company, for example, that has any government contracts, whether local, state or federal, those contracts have a very good chance of going away.
That is but one of the most obvious examples.
A default is not fun... even if your personal debt is zero... it might also include lovely things such as currency controls... Oh and this will be worst for the US since the Dollar will no longer be a reserve currency... which could easily lead to hyperinflation.
