This just in, found by our esteemed friend and colleague, bijou.

Just asked my wife for the definition of "pelvic abscess" because she is a nurse.
"a what"? A "pelvic abscess", dear. "Oh, that's not good"!
Apparently this is a condition where a tear develops inside the rectum. Fecal matter enters and forms a festering pocket like a little shit filled water balloon. It pops. Bad things happen. You go septic, quick.
They have to open you up and flush it all out, boost you full of a staggering amount of antibiotics and install a colostomy bag upstream from the blowout. Your colon is left outside of your body, marinating in an antibiotic soup for awhile as your nether regions are continually flushed out. Odds are good that you are toast as infections like this spread like wildfire.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.  :fuelfire:

I can only hope Michael Moore heeds his own advice next time he gets sick or injured and flies his fat ass down to Cuba for treatment. "Sicko" was all about how our healthcare system sucked, and how Cuba's was top notch. Yeah.....right.  :whatever:

6. The question is what is his underlying illness
 the news story says that what he was operated on is just a symptom of a more serious underlying disease. I have seen relatively healthy looking cancer patients for example - that picture does not really answer the question of just how sick he really is.
