Citizen Cain

Now is the time to test whether the Tea Party means business because, judging by last week's Republican presidential debate, the Tea Party candidate for president in 2012 is self-evident.

Herman Cain is the ideal Tea Party candidate.  Herman Cain is the ideal citizen candidate among the eminently forgettable posse of professional politicians.  Cain has and utilizes, as he did last week in Greenville, South Carolina, the one asset that will unite constitutional conservatives: he is a plain-speaking Gadsden flag.

Generations of career politicians who, in the words of Daniel Webster, "mean to govern well, but mean to govern," have bankrupted our country in a slow side toward socialism and the withering of our liberty.

Patriots are clamoring for an individual who, as president, can calmly and confidently reorient this country to the Constitution and fiscal sanity. >>>

Cain has proven himself again and again as an executive (which, lest anyone forget, is the office he is seeking), willing to begin at ground level and rising to save a company from bankruptcy.  He is a scholar, a mathematician (bachelors from Morehouse), and computer scientist (masters from Purdue) who speaks logically and plainly.  He recognizes that this is a world of absolutes, right and wrong, and operates so.  He does not fail, nor does he ever need to preface any statement with "Let me be clear."

A Cain candidacy would give conservative voters a break during October 2012 in the form of a candidate before whom we do not cringe in anticipatory dread during the presidential debates.  Cain would crush the president in a debate, and would do so as calmly and precisely as he demolished Bill Clinton in 1994.  Cain is Obama's worst nightmare: A strong black man from the South, a self-made black man, unafraid of anyone, unafraid to say directly to Obama's face what needs to be said directly, as often as it needs to be said.  Cain has had a true American experience.  He knows from real racism and segregation, not some intellectualized rage formulated in the soft environs of the Ivy League.  Cain did not beg, borrow, and steal for a piece of the pie -- he quite literally made his own pies.  His example is the American example.

"Plain talk is like spring medicine -- unpalatable, but necessary."
     - John Boyle O'Reilly

Herman Cain’s 5 step plan to create US jobs

Herman Cain is the new exciting Republican candidate in the 2012 presidential race.  He has won several straw polls and the first debate among 2012 Republican candidates.

Cain, 65 years old, came from a successful business career, during which he returned restaurant chain Godfather’s Pizza to profitability and made the Philadelphia area’s Burger King branches the most profitable in the company.

Now, he thinks he can turn around the US economy and create jobs with his 5-step plan (listed below).

    1) Lower the corporate tax rate to 25 percent from 35 percent. >>>
    2) Take the capital gains tax rate to zero. >>>
    3) Take the tax rate on the repatriation of foreign profits for US companies to zero. >>>
    4) Cut the entire 6.2 percent payrolls tax for workers and employers for 1 year. >>>
    5) Make the tax rates permanent or indefinite. >>>

Below are more positions articulated by Cain.

    - Repeal ‘Obamacare’ and replace it with a more patient-centered legislation.

    - Cut government spending across the board, then drill down and eliminate wasteful programs and agencies.

    - Change Social Security to something similar to the Chilean model of personal retirement account option.
Cain said the American people need to take back the American dream, which has been stifled by “too much legislation, too much regulation, and too much taxation.”

He said he will help Americans take it back by creating jobs through what he calls the “direct stimulus” of tax cuts rather than the “indirect stimulus” of government spending.

Cain would be great at the top of the ticket. Bolton and Bachman would be excellent choices for VP. Cain and Bolton would beat up on the 2 idiots in the WH in the presidential debate. I would also like to see Gov Perry of TX jump into the race. The more the merrier. Perry would absolutely blister Obama's ass on the primary trail and in the Repub debates.

I wish Cain would have at least 'mentioned' drilling and refining our own oil as part of his 'stimulus' plan.

Oh well.

For many Georgia Republicans, Newt Gingrich's no Herman Cain

It had all the trappings of a homecoming. Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker who helped Republicans rise to power in this once-solid Democratic state, returned Friday deliver his first speech as a presidential candidate before thousands of state GOP delegates.

But ahead of Gingrich’s scheduled address Friday evening, party activists were buzzing about another favorite son — Herman Cain.

“He doesn’t talk political,” said Jeanette Bean, a Gwinnett County delegate who was passing out Draft Cain stickers. “He talks straight. He doesn’t mince his words and says it how it is. It’s so refreshing,”

Plenty of other attendees seemed to agree. Kicking off the two-day convention, Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss gave a shout out to both Georgia natives. “We’ve got Newt Gingrich,” he said, which earned a whistle of approval from one member of the audience.

When Chambliss added, “We’ve got Herman Cain,” loud whoops, cheers and applause were heard.

Go away, Newt.

Oh well.

I think an explosive energy policy is the key to millions of good paying jobs. It is one of the few industries we have not shipped overseas. Plus, using our own oil, natural gas, coal, nuke power reduces our dependence and the dollars we send overseas. These type of jobs could give the economy and the treasury a big kick in the ass.

I am still hoping that Palin will get into the race because she knows more about energy than all the clowns in DC combined.

Tea Party congressman underwhelmed by current Republican presidential field

The current crop of Republican presidential candidates is "lukewarm" and unexciting, said Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.), a Tea Party darling.

West, a freshman Republican lawmaker from Florida, badmouthed the 2012 field of GOP hopefuls while noting that he himself would not be seeking the presidency.

"I've got to tell you that no one is really exciting anyone out there right now," West told the conservative website Newsmax in an interview posted late Thursday. "I think by September, October, maybe we'll see a front-runner. But right now, you know, kind of lukewarm."

West said he "couldn't say right now" if he had any favorites, and that his only focus was on seeking reelection to his House seat next fall.

------------------------------------------

I can't say that I really disagree with him all that much. BUT ... I would not even BEGIN to discount Cain like that, who I think will re-energize the entire field as time passes.

Cain is ABLE! (New campaign slogan? Hehe ... I should make a little sig for the board here.)

Just a guess, but if Allen West came out this early for Herman Cain, the left would say he's being racist and picking the black candidate.  :-)

I love reading the comments on Cain's Facebook page.  Between the Ron Paul trolls and the Obama 100-percenters, they're so over-the-top ridiculous that you can't help but laugh at them.

Oh, and I remembered to make a donation.  Don't you forget either.
