Thanks you, sweetheart. It was a lovely gift and a gentle way to go to sleep.
Watching the images and hearing that wonderful singer gave me real nostalgia for Hawai'i. I have been to Hawai'i many times (mostly Kauai and Maui) and recognized more than a few of the spots shown.
I especially remember 25 years ago or so, when I went for the first time (Princeville, Kaua'i). The first night there was a massive squall which I thought would rip right though the condo I was renting. But after a night of that, in the morning all was clear and I made some coffee (Kona, of course) and wandered out onto the lana'i, which looked toward the mountain. And there I saw the most beautiful double rainbow I had ever seen (or have since). It was like they were solid bars of color. I think I sat there for 2 hours, thinking nothing, just watching that rainbow ever so slowly fade away. I also think it is the last time I have ever successfully shut my brain down and merely enjoyed something for its own sake.
And if you have been there, you know the never to be forgotten fragrance of Kaua'i and Maui.
I will always have a special love for Hawai'i in general and Kaua'i in particular. Next time I go I want to split time between Kaua'i the Big Island (which I have yet to visit).
Sleep well with dreams of the sights, sounds and smells of the islands.
Aloha auinapo
