All most of us care about is the health and safety of the survivors. And we care about their grief. Their losses.

How dare you present something that would make us think!

What could possibly be the difference between Japan and NOLA?

Three guesses. First two do not count.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

That's interesting, someone posted a Vanity today at FR, CNN was interviewing a Japanese Reporter and he was talking about the difference between the people in Japan and those effected by Katrina, he said that people waited patiently on line for water etc. and how the people didn't charge their news van and stealing items like they did when he reported on Katrina.

Liberals pretend their policies extend from an unwavering desire for community.

In reality they are selfish and self absorbed. They want social safety nets because they feel life is unfair (especially to them) and they are owed for their inconvenience.

Japan, in contrast, has a genuine communal spirit. It isn't about what society owes them but rather it is about their commitments and obligation to society.

So, where liberalism reigns there is an attending attitude of self-indulgence and no sense of obligation to others.

Ergo liberals steal just as surely as they lie.

I saw a pic of these Japanese that were lined up in a long queue, between these painted lines, patiently waiting for water. It was a link from drudge.

after looking at these photos, young man carrying an old man on his back, people lined up for food rations, food left out and no one stealing it, I am truly in awe of this society.  It's AMAZING.  Seriously is bringing a tear to my eye that there are still good people out there like this.  They are so proud :bawl:

Different mindset. Sadly the US used to be like that. Still are in the rural areas. Not so much in the urban areas anymore. Thank LBJ for that.

Notice the young man has his jeans pulled up and his hat on properly too. Not that it's important or anything.

The big difference is that Japan doesn't labor under the curse of "diversity".
Diversity, true diversity, is not an evil.

What liberals practice is self-indulgent hedonism that defends itself by invoking a focused form of anti-religious bigotry with ethnic racial undertones which they in turn market as diversity.

You must never assume liberals tell the truth.

And we have a WINNER!!

Having been to Japan a few times, I can easily say that I never ONCE worried about my well being while roaming around the streets there unlike other countries I have been to. (Somehow I got lost somewhere around downtown Tokyo on some isolated streets.) Sure, they have their criminals, but they seem relegated to their own thing and it's NOT picking on Americans. Japan is a country where they have what are called, "Gomen Piles". They take their outdated "stuff" and place it there for whoever wants it. There is much acclaim there about honor, sacrifice and duty.

Because the Japanese are not standing there with their hands out expecting to be taken care of. You know like what happened in the rest of the areas that Katrina hit.

No looting in Japan =======No Democrats.

Yup--"shopping at the Gomen" is how the American students and some sailors who lived out in town referred to it.  To the point where they'll pack it in the original boxes and set it out.

There is a spirit of community that the liberals always dream about but never have the self-discipline or motivation to do.  Now mind you, there are some aspects of the Japanese culture that I really don't care for (xenophobia and racism high on that list) but by and large if you're respectful of their culture they'll bend over backwards for you.

Hi5 for NH Sparky and what he said. Also the Japanese also do one thing that we as Americans are forgetting each and everyday it seems. They have respect and honor for themselves and others. Alot of DUmmies don't as you can tell by their postings on DU. There is a time and place for not showing respect and honor to those you meet and that involves them not giving you a reason to,DUmmies do it because it's cool.

There was also no looting in the floods in the northern mid west. There is something that I just can't put my finger on.
