Horrible Movies...Post em here
« on: February 28, 2011, 01:08:29 PM »
SO, my husband was under the weather on Saturday and wanted me to convelesce with him and watch a movie on the tv.  He'd recorded something off of Starz or somewhere and forced me to watch it.  Getting up and leaving would have been rude to a sick spouse.

The name?  2012.  Cusack's in it.  It concerns nadabrains' word of the day, eschetology.

Aside from the laughably implausible special effects, the characters are so irritating, I began to actively hate them.  I wanted all of them to die horrible deaths.  I could root for nobody, I despised them all.

The movie started at 8:00.  When I felt I was on my very last nerve from the utter suckiness of it all, I looked at the clock.  9:00.  Gaaah!  Cracked another beer and plundered on.  I lost track of the stupid plot, because I was so aware of my soaring blood pressure, my clenched jaw, my hands in fists.   After watching one of my most hated characters get chewed up by a conveyor belt mishmash,  I cheered.

At 10:00 it was STILL GOING ON.  NO END IN SIGHT.  I didn't see the end because I threw a small fit and left the room.  Do not under any circumstances let anyone rope you into watching this POS.

Mamma Mia.  It was on TV when nothing else was.  I like ABBA.  I like Pierce Brosnan.  I watched less than 5 minutes and turned it off.

Hey!  I love any movie that'll show The People's Republic of Califunny sliding off the continental shelf and into the Pacific Ocean.  I agree with you that the rest of it was one big steaming pile of horse crap, and just exemplary of what comes out of HollyWierd these days, but I have to love 2012 for all of those hippie bastards learning the answer to the question, "How long can you tread water?"

On my recent list of movies not worth the $8.50 for a ticket, is The Green Hornet.  I liked Jay Chou's characterization of Kato, but other than that Seth Rogen manages to thoroughly destroy the experience for me.  Apparently the two and a half minutes of clips that make up the trailer teaser are the only two and a half minutes where Seth isn't dropping gratuitous F-Bombs and the like, or otherwise displaying complete incompetence as an actor.  Having been born in 1971, I never watched the Green Hornet on TV as a kid, and after seeing this, my desire to go back to those old shows is not improved by the watching.

MacGruber.  I don't even know how it made it onto film.
The Producers, love Nathan Lane and Matthew Brodrick, the movie was putrid.
Sideways, watched the last half in fast forward.
March of the Penguins, wanted to jamb a screwdriver in my eyes by the end.
Shark Boy and Lava Girl, I paid to see this.  I am still traumatized
Machette, where criminals are heroes and cops and ICE agents are evil.
Donnie Darko.  I usually love cult films.  This was still gives me a huge WTF when I think about it.  It was sooo boring and stupid.
The Big Lewbowski, why the hell do people like this movie?
The Last Airbender, I may never forgive anyone in this movie.
Revolver, the day Guy Ritchie broke my heart
All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.

I Love You, Man.  Awful, terrible, boring movie.

Ditto for Hot Rod and just about any SNL-based movie.

2012 was awful, as is anything that Roland Emmerich has a hand in.

The Planet of the Apes remake was awful.

Moulin Rouge was god-awful.

The remake of The Steppford Wives really bad.

There was a real stinker that came out the same time as Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth.

It was big on effects but totally lost on story. I foolishly saw it in the theater.

It was a global climate change movie with an instant ice age mixed with swarms of tornadoes and all sorts of climatological mayhem. The heroes kid was in New York, and a tsunami hit and then froze instantly trapping the city under 30 feet of ice. People tried to get out, but another super freeze killed em all in their tracks.

This was one of the more miserable wastes of film I have ever seen. All the people were stupid, they all deserved to die, but the heroes seemed to make it in spite of their collective IQ of 15. Curse the luck.

Thank you.  I always wanted to see that and now I know.

That's one I never wanted to see.   :o

I get a kick out of the awful movie "Army of Darkness."  Bad, bad, bad.  But makes me laugh and say "Give me some sugar, baby" and I do not fit that type, which makes other people laugh.
