Indiana House Democrats Have Walked Out

According to the Indianapolis Star, most of the Indiana House Democrats did not appear for work today. The chamber is now closed while the GOP majority figures out whether or not to send the State Police after them.

10. Similar bill to the excreable Wisconsin measure

is making its way through the Indiana Legislature. The unions have had people rallying at the Statehouse for the last two days and the Democrats have walked out to prevent the House from gaining a quorum. Very similar issues to Wisconsin, if not the same scale...yet.

17. We're going to need a refugee camp

For state dems.

Make that prison camp and I'll agree.   Obama was for the Wisconsin unions before he read the polls and turned against them.  The DUmmies don't get the fact that most tax paying citizens realize that public union salaries , benefits and pensions are killing state budgets.  This very well could be the end of powerful public unions in the making.

Oh, and BTW DUmmies, the ridiculous cry baby unions have almost nothing in common with the protesters in the ME, except for a hatred of all that is good and decent.

I don't get how these people think elected representatives walking off their jobs is a good idea.  What if the GOP had done this during Obamacare or any one of Harry Reid's "sleepovers"?  The DUmmies would STILL be whining and crybabying about it.

And frankly, if these idiots learned nothing from last November--and it's pretty apparent they haven't--it's that they better start LISTENING to the people and DOING what they say.

Instead, they're running away like spoiled little bitches.  Yeah, that's a good strategy for 2012.

Guess legislators don't have a "no call + no show = no job" clause in their job description.

What the heck are they thinking?  Not the way to negotiate.  Staying home pouting or stomping their little feet in defiance doesn't impress most of the working world.

Can you imagine the media reaction if Republicans dared do the same thing?  There would be absolute outrage, calling it a "temper tantrum", etc.

The problem this time is they don't have the people behind them. America is in NO mood for a bunch of "adults" throwing a tantrum because they're suddenly being expected to live like everyone else (well, almost). I'd bet a lot of the dems hiding from their jobs are going to lose them in the next election cycle.

It's almost comical. The GOP is trying to be responsible adults and the dems are throwing temper tantrums.
We have real problems that need to be addressed and all the unions do is cry and scream at how unfair that they may have to pay their own way through life.

Do they even realize that those of us who pay the bills do not get all the freebies that they have been given for years?
If we have to pay our own way so should they.

Another group who took their ball and went home?

Funny how they don't want to play when the majority is on the Republican side, huh?  Maybe the Indiana senators are hanging out with the Wisconsin senators in Illinois.

Democratics play this stupid game all the time.  They did it in Texas in 2003.  Texas issued warrants for them if I remember correctly.

Quote
The Democrats fled Texas to avoid the reach of state troopers, who had been told to round them until that order was rescinded Tuesday night. House rules allow for the arrest of members who intentionally thwart a quorum — which requires at least 100 of the body's 150 members to be present

I don't know why the DUmmies think this is such an ingenious, clever political strategy.  I don't think the current crop of Americans has much taste for those who walk off jobs, precious as they are.  Especially cushy jobs, like state legislator.  That's a cognac-and-cigar job if there ever was one.

If the DUmmies think that retreat and hide is a winning strategy, then good for them.

Better for us at the next election cycle.

Guess how that worked out for the donks? I think right about a net 100 seat difference for the republicans. I think this will work out in WI, OH, IN about the same way.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

And that's how it should be.  If they are going to subvert the will of those who hired them then they need to hit the road.  They shouldn't even wait for elections.
