I was pulled over yesterday and am now freaking out.
I work 40 hours a week and volunteer to teach another 10 hours. So I relax during my one day off a week.

I was leaving a friend's and had just turned onto MY BLOCK when I was pulled over within eyesight of my house. The cop had me step out of the car and then he preceded to tell me my license plate light doesn't work. (Which is true because my older model doesn't even have one.)

He had me step out of the car and do sobriety tests after sobriety tests. I followed my eyes with the officer's pen. Then I walked a straight line. He had me blow into a breathalyzer where I blew a 000. Then he had me balance myself on one foot. It was early in the cold morning (I had smoked a couple of hours before hand) and I had difficulty doing it. Now he had probable cause and searched my vehicle where he found a little weed.

I've never been in trouble with the law before and I'm trying to go to grad school. I'm so terrified that having "Possession" on my record will prevent me from getting aid and getting a good job.
Keep in mind, the back of my garage always has graffiti on it and I hear of burglaries in my neighborhood all the time. However, I never hear of any of these being solved or arrests being made. I hate being poor.

I've been pulled over a block from my house before.  My license plate light was burned out.  We have a few bars up the road from my parent's house.  Cop pulled me over, let me know that my light was burned out and to get it replaced, and wanted to make sure I wasn't driving under the influence.  I did not receive any sobriety tests because I didn't appear drunk.  I gave the officer respect and told him 'thanks' for the heads up on my license plate light.  He told me to have a wonderful evening and be safe if I go out later.

If you were worried about being in trouble and having possession on you record, why would you carry around weed?  Just saying.

And the graffiti IS annoying.  But police and even residents rarely catch the culprits.
You may call me Jessica or Jess.

DUMBAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSS if you stay away from the weed you wouldn't be looking at getting arrested. Not many employers look fondly to having some dope addled employee potentially causing problems at work.  Go and get your sorry goat smelling ass to work and clean up your act and maybe someday you get promoted from working the counter at the movie theater to working the projection booth.

I dunno, they do sound like a doper.  We get one of the following statements nearly ever time:

1.  The government shouldn't be able to control what I put into my body.
2.  Don't you have real criminals you can be arresting?  I had a friend who had her car broken into and the cops never put this much effort into finding the criminal.
3.  It's only a plant.  If God didn't want us to enjoy it, He wouldn't have let it grow.

The doper hates "being poor?"  I've been keeping up on what weed costs.  Stop buying it and s/he can move to a better neighborhood.

And TexasCop: I liked your comment about stupid people who keep pot in their cars wasting your time.  No kidding.  There's a reason it's called being "wasted."

I know it's a silly thing to ask a DUmmy to use logic, but here's the thing.  We don't know who the bad guys are.  We DO know that bad guys usually use cars to get to and from the scene of their respective crime.  That means we have to play a cat and mouse game of figuring out which car has the bad guy in it.  It's like a real-life game of Whack-a-Mole, but with turds.  When that officer stopped that DUmmy, he was probably looking either for an impaired driver or all-around-bad-guy.  As that officer was processing DUmmy for his dope charge, that burglar he's bitching about probably drove right past the officer.

Ummm, how old of a vehicle do you have to be driving that doesn't have a plate light?

Just curious.

I had a 1996 Nissan 240SX when I had my light burn out... I believe it was 2004 I was pulled over.  Then a couple weeks later, I had to replace my blinkers and brake lights.  All of the lights went out all at once.  Which was convenient for me to do a huge shopping trip at Auto Zone.  lol

My 59 Apache has an OEM  license plate light.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
