I know rape is such a sensitive subject, but less than 1% of rapes result in pregnancy, that stat was from quite a few years ago before the morning after pill ever came on the market, so i say pregnancy resulting from rape is even lower now, not sure what the stats are for instances where the life of the Mother is involved, but I'd say those are very low also, the rest? almost total irresponsibility on the women's part, and yes I'm placing the blame on us because we're the ones who become pregnant and if we don't want to get pregnant then it's up to us to make sure we women are protected and to make sure men use protection.
Well, if you factor the morning after pill into the equation, everything changes of course.
I know there are those who oppose even the administration of the morning after pill as abortion.
But, to stipulate that a rape victim be given the morning after pill, and the life of the woman be considered above that of the child, other than that, yes, abortion should be totally illegal.
Women who get knocked up after a drunken all nighter shouldn't be able to get rid of the kid because it's inconvenient.
And yeah, while men should do their part in birth control and the smart dude does, what with DNA tests and child support payments, the final responsibility ends with the woman, who will be the nine month incubator.
