Oh crap. Here we go. Federal judge in Florida has struck down key parts of healthcare reform bill

Oh crap. Here we go.

(CNN) - A federal judge in Florida has struck down key parts of the sweeping health care reform bill championed by President Barack Obama as unconstitutional. Officials in Florida and 25 other states are challenging sections of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, including the "individual mandate" requiring most American to purchase health insurance in four years, or face stiff penalties.

1. What everyone on here seems to want to get rid of HCR anyway because it's not a public option

Isn't that what everyone says.

Don't get me wrong. I'm being snarky. I DON'T want to lose HCR, I have a disabled child.

Que? :???:

The driver's license issue is a red herring - the laws around acquiring them are determined by the issuing state - state's rights.. - the purchase mandate in the federal mandate removes several rights from states.

That is the problem, primitive.

It just sounds like an incredibly stupid thing to say.  The two are so far removed from each other they don't even make a halfway-decent analogy.

DUmmies...

Since when does the state require me to have a drivers license or pay a penalty, asshat?

If I don't drive, for cripes sake, I don't have to buy one!

That's the problem with this healthcare bull shit, if ya ain't sick or foresee it in your future, like back when I was a StudMuffin, why the hell do I need it?????? I got along just fine for 30 years without payin' $500 ****in' dollars a month for health insurance I never used!

DUmmies are such peckerwoods! Logic on Uranus just doesn't exist, I guess! Must be nice. I wonder if they can time travel? Don't answer that! I don't wanna know!!!!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

Damn, this is bad. I sure hope DUmmy nadinbrzszhzczshzcski and her brother-in-law reconsider about breaking up America. Or maybe we can persuade her to just dump California.

Yep, and when warned that it was unconstitutional, the Demmocrats wasted more than a year and uncounted amounts of money debating, sermonizing, propagandizing, and villianizing about their bill all the while saying, well, if it's unconsitituional then let the courts strike it down.  If the fools had started with, "It's unconstituional, so let's move on to other business." We might all be better off.

They don't care about legality, and they'll start telling us how reactionary this judge is very shortly.  They only care about power.  They may get it, but by the time they do the nation will be unfit for governing.

I'll see you that Drudge and raise you this:

Judge uses Obama’s words against him
Quote

“I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that ‘if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house,’” Judge Vinson wrote in a footnote toward the end of the 78-page ruling Monday.

Indeed - and since Bella Pelosi said "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it" - what you got was a punch in the face. However, in this case, the problem is what isn't in it - a severance clause, meaning there is no way to strike down part of part of the bill without killing it all. Since you don't own the house, and barely own the senate - you don't have the votes to skirt the rule. Sorry.

** That's what you get for breaking your promise to publicly air a bill before voting on it, bitches. One of your minions would have found the severance clause was missing if you asshats did what you said you would.

What is funny is Nads might find itself on the other end of a Aunt Janetano wire tap if she keeps posting about conspiring with her BIL .... Inquiring minds might like to hear her plan for the partitioning.

Five subcultures?

Let me think on this one a bit................

1- Honest conservatives
2- morally conservative people
3- conservative religious people
4-decent conservative people
5-lying, cheating democrats

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

So do I you doofus. That is one of the reasons I joined the military was because of health insurance. That is also why I have this thing called a job right now. I know that is hard for you to wrap your little pea brain around right now but that is how you take care of your children. You work and earn the money to support them and you be a freaking parent. It's not the governments job to take care of and raise your crotch droppings. :loser:

Well, considerin' they harped to high heaven tellin' us the reading of the Constitution cost millions of wasted tax dollars and it took a mere 2 hours, what do ya 'spose this ****in' monstrosity cost us? And they didn't even read the ****er in private, let alone out loud!

After thinking about it, I suspect the severance clause was an oversight, but the intention was to go to court.

A ) The people don't want a public option..
B ) The court overturns part of the bill..
C ) The democrats then add in the P.O. retroactively to 'fix' the problem, without allowing anyone to stop it.
D ) Dems get what they wanted all along.

But two things went wrong on the way to the land of rainbow-vomiting unicorns. By creating an unreadable bill, they forgot to include the severance clause, and they believed they were an unstoppable force. Now they cant line-item the problems, and don't have the votes to redo it. Too bad.

Bravo, Your Honor!

Unfortuntely the illegal czars will just ignore this and every other ruling in every matter that contradicts the administration’s agenda. Witness the FCC and internet battle. The shadow government put in place with the willing help of congress has mostly eclipsed the Constitutional government.
