OSHA was passed by Nixon. Then again, so was the EPA and a lot of other shit the bats claim.

But, but, I remember the NEA Teacher tellin' us about the Union army in the Civil War beating up the Condfedlican Army and cleaning the sky and streams up while they were at it, so yeah, the Unions started the GI Bill....
