Reality based community: Yes, the GOP really are nazis
« on: January 20, 2011, 02:54:51 PM »
Further proof that the words (new tone, civility) from a leader (Obama) have no bearing on a determined audience (DU).

So how can Palin be blamed for Loughner?

Anyhoo:

Belittles the enormous travesties the real Nazis committed and do we want a better tone or not?

I can't be outraged when a Republican does it and then drool over a Democrat.

What follows is basically 70% of respondents saying "If the shoe fits! ZOMFGWTFBBQ They're gonna take us all to the camps!"

42. How many hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were "murdered"?
How many "concentration camps" Prisons with torture were set up.. Yes Republicans are quite capable of behaving like Nazis.. Anyone that justifies torture is comparable to Nazis IMO...

Yes, but those are Obama's camps now.

14. A few things to think about:
Shock and awe = A term first used to describe Blietzkrig or Nazi Germany's "lightning war".
Embedded journalism = Created or first used extensively by Nazi Germany as a message control and propaganda mechanism.
Homeland = Comes from Germany's use of Heimatland
The People's Court = A extra judicial legal system from German law set up outside the rule of law to deal with "terrorism" threats from communists set up after the burning of the Reichstag.
The Enabling Acts = Parallels our Patriot Act in it gave extra power to the Chancellor to deal with terrorist threats.

57. So this is basically holocaust denial, you know?
You claim that recent history is not open for discussion, that we can not learn from what happened, that we must let it happen again out of some fear of calling wrong wrong?
The reference was a comparison of one set of propaganda to that of the evil master of propaganda. No one got called a Nazi.
This idea that there must be no reference to a war that involved my Father and Uncles is insulting. You want to deny the past, feel free. Not playing your game.

61. I'll make them in a non-totalitarian fascist nation (shadow government ruled) that I'm a citizen of
Never forget is more than a slogan to some of US. Corporate fascism is here, now. Militarism is here, now. Privatization of government, and everything else is here, now. Ultranationalism wrapped in racist politicized theology is here, now. Propaganda and domestic psy-ops are here, now. That's similar to the Nazis and the Axis powers of WWII to those of US that know history. It isn't totalitarian, yet what do you call people and organizations that literally idolize and imitate the Third Reich? Centrists??? Moderates???

What do you call the Nazis that were given American identities and jobs in "national security" shortly after WWII? Patriots???

What do you call that Nazi influence here today???

I would ask the lurkers:

If the conservatives were given their dream of de-centralizing education, finance, social programs and took money away from government to control our medicine, retirement, etc...

...HOW MUCH GOVERNMENT WOULD REMAIN TO AFFECT A TOTALITARIAN REGIME?

And which party IS trying to centralize all power into the hands of their elected executive?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Amen.

I've never encountered a liberal who has a remotely accurate idea of what the Nazis were like, to begin with. Anyone who thinks the GOP has the same goals as the Nazis do is beyond ignorant of history.

Wait, no, I take that back - the Nazis wanted Germany to be self-sufficient, and the same goes for those GOP members who are serious conservatives. ZOMG NAZIS!

Safe to say that we can add history along with economics and basic arithmetic, as not one of the DUchebag's strong subjects.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Yeah, b-b-but, the signs are all there! We have an army, and they wear uniforms and stuff, and we have leaders who speak in front of microphones, and if you break the law police come and arrest you, and people use harsh language towards one another!

That's just how Nazi Germany started!!!

It seems that the cries to limit freedom of speech are also coming from the left, not the right.

Silly.

They aren't limiting speech! They just want to outlaw political opposition.

How fascist could THAT possibly be?

You can have all the free speech you want as long as the Communist Democrat Party agrees with it.

You can have all the free speech you want as long as the Communist Democrat Party agrees with it.

They tried legislating it away by resurrecting the "Fairness" Doctrine.

When that didn't work they tried boycotts.

Then it was lawsuits.

Then it was campus speech codes.

Followed by invited speakers at universities being shouted down, their stages rushed and suffering assaults on their person.

Then they were seized by a fit of conservativism and tried to best it through marketplace competition (Air America), which was a miserable failure, even though they worked for free and were propped up with private funding.

Then their thugs began attacking counter-protestors at immigration and antiwar rallies

Then they tried to shut us up through intimidation - having the President go on record berating private citizens for their views and having the state apparatus investigate the private lives of dissenters.

Then they tried competition again (MSNBC), and have again failed miserably.

Now, the latest is the desperate, false and pathetically obvious attempt to tie violence to conservative rhetoric, and they wouldn't be satisfied with a moral victory. No, the preferred outcome would be legal action to punish their opponents and new legislation to censor them.

Someone tell me this isn't right out of the totalitarian Socialist's playbook.

So, basically, we wear jack boots and DUmmies wear flip-flops.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

I wonder if Pelosi condemned this.
No I know the answer she didn't she only complains when the other side does it.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

So,...if the repubs repeal the bill, they are like Hitler?
Sorry DUmmies, I don't see your idiotic thinking here. How is repealing something that is unconstitutional the same as leading people to gas chambers? :???:
Oh, by the way. Stay classy democrats. ::)
