Well, even with half going to taxes, that still leaves a nice pile to play with.
In order:
1. Immediately retire. Again. Encourage Mrs E to retire. For the first time.
2. Pay off all bills, Sell the house for whatever I can get for it and move to where IT'S WARM(ER). Pay cash for the custom-built home whose plans I have squirrelled away.
3. Contact a lawyer and set up conditional trust funds for family members who are younger than 21. They get paid after they've accomplished certain "things" which are to be named. Family members older than 21 have to jump through hoops too, but those are to be determined also.
4. Get a lot of advice on how to invest it, set up foundations, etc. Let the money work for itself.
5. Set up a charitable gift to the tune of $50K per year for my church.
6. Gotta trade in the cars - they each have ~160K miles on 'em.
7. Buy a Shires bass trombone, and $150,000 in brass band instruments and percussion. I'll start my own ******* band. Another $10,000 for sheet music.
8. Buy Thor a new truck. He needs it.
