The Irony is that if the economy does improve after the new Republicans are sworn in, the primitives will crow about the recovering economy that the Republicans inherited..

Actually, traditionally, a new Congress takes over on January 3.

I could be wrong, but I think I spotted the date this year, that it's not until January 5 or 6 or something.

Count on it. Economies are cyclical. There are ups and downs, and the only thing the gubbment can do to expand the economy is to cut taxes and regulations to make the environment more conducive to business. Liberals don't get this. They think that gubbment can create jobs by throwing money at the problem.

Whenever I hear someone say "The government needs to create more jobs" I want to smack them.

That's what I thought too.  It would seem odd for the new Congress/Senate would take over right at 12:01am January 1st.  It's a Saturday.  It would make more sense for them to get to work on a Monday.

Sit around for a few weeks taking bribes, then get a few weeks off to go home and give a few blowhard speaches, go back for a few weeks and have sex with a few interns, then go on a "fact-finding" junket to Hawaii, take some more bribes, approve a few Bills diverting pork for your district, then when re-election time comes give a few more speaches and con the sheeple about how much you've been working for their interests.
