What's so stupid about banning sweets, is that some foods that will be allowed are worse than some of the "sweets". I had never paid much attention to the amount of carbs in different foods, until I went on this diet back in July (40lbs gone

). I had only paid attention to calories and sodium. I was really surprised at the things I was told to not eat.
Any fruit. Bananas, apples and grapes are FULL of carbs!!! Unsweetened apple juice has 30g of carbs in 8ounces
No pastas, potatoes, or beans.
No cereals.
No catsup, bar-b-que sauce.
No MILK! in 2% milk there are 11.7g in 8ounces.
No peas, corn, cooked carrots.
As most people know, with the exception of this school district!, carbs transform in the body into 'gasp!' SUGAR!!!!
What do they think they have been feeding these kids in the school lunch room? CARBS!! Cheapest foods - pastas, potatoes, peas, corn, carrots, apples and bananas...are all high in carbs.
And they are worried about a kid having a Little Debbie cake in their lunch brought from home? I'd say the kids that are eating lunch brought from home, even with a snack cake, are probably eating healthier than the kids getting the "healthy lunch" prepared by the school!!
