I usually have to be firmly convinced that contributing my two cents worth to a thread isn't going to get me change back, before I'll post.

Sometimes I'm not in a position to post.  I may be waiting on an appointment or a phone call and I know if I get in the middle of posting I'll just close the window and all will be lost.

I forgot to answer my own poll question, so I will now.  If it's evening time, I'm usually drunk as a skunk (sometimes just a baby skunk).  Rest of the time, someone else beat me to the snark. :-)

If I don't post in a thread (or someone beats me to it), it's usually because I feel my snark is sub-par and I'll keep it to myself.  (voted 'Other') :whistling:

All kindsa reasons - no time, the snark's been taken already, wanna avoid the "piling-on syndrome" or sometimes I just don't want to bother.

"Too drunk to post" ain't in my vocabulary, however.

Usually because it was funnier in my head than when I wrote it down on 'paper' here so I just close the window.  Afterall, there's some stiff competition posting in the Cave (OMG, did I just write that?  O-)  :-))

A lot of times either what I would say has already been posted or half way through a post will kind of read it and think that it is either stupid/convoluted or just plain not worth posting.
Will just back out and go on reading what other folks write.

Some days just don't feel like writing much, but quietly enjoy others' stuff.

I'm proud to say I have never posted drunk at the Cave.  I did once at Moonbattery, and it wasn't pretty.  Hard to do, too.

There's some pretty witty people here, and a lot of times they've already mined the subject pretty well, my post wouldn't add anything so I smile and move on.
