The new law repealing DADT specifically mentions that service members who might be married in the states where it is legal, cannot and will not receive any benefits for their spouses, like straight couples in the military.

"(d) Benefits- Nothing in this section, or the amendments made by this section, shall be construed to require the furnishing of benefits in violation of section 7 of title 1, United States Code (relating to the definitions of ‘marriage’ and ‘spouse’ and referred to as the ‘Defense of Marriage Act’)."

I think we need to press on, even next year, to make sure these folks get their due benefits. Even if you have DOMA for all regular Americans, please just let these people be exempt from it. They deserve better than this.

I say this, and I won't even benefit in any way, shape, or form from any changes. In other words, this is not selfish in any way. I just want these people to have their due benefits. They deserve it.

Can you imagine what it will be like for a GLBT soldier serving overseas, to know they will not be able to know their loved ones are protected?

What we have coming will be better than the status quo, but it's still discrimination.

Just as someone brought up earlier that the next thing they will want is the ID card and healthcare for their partners.

The economy is in shambles and all they care about is allowing gays in the military and giving their butt buddies px privileges.

I don't think military insurance benefits have a cap either.  The Gay Disease AIDS, will siphon tons of money from the military.

And we knew it.  If they get tinkerbelle "marriage," it opens the door for polygamy, group marriage, and eventually marriage to animals or trees or whatever you want.  If not, why not?  The primitives today that say someone marrying their dog will never happen are the same primitives who will be considered "traditionalist" and "trying to protect the status quo" by future generations.  Tell them that and WHOOOOOOOSH!!! .... right over their tiny little heads.

It's going to happen Allo.  It was the whole reason behind pushing the repeal of DADT.

Now...every state and territory will be forced to either honor gay "marriage" or fight it in court because of challenges on behalf of "soldiers" to recognize their "marriage".

Support the troops right?

We were used to further an agenda that couldn't get passed any other way.  This never was about letting gays serve openly in the military.

It was about forcing the majority of the people in this country to accept gay "marriage".

Yes they have limits.  There are co-pays that come out of my pocket.  Limits on what they pay for over a lifetime as well.

Yeah I thought the same thing after Clinton forced Tri-Care on us.  I told my friends back then that if people wanted to see what Hillarycare was gonna be like look at what they were doing to us in the Military.

I had an AD patient that needed a medically necessary surgery that required the finesse of a plastic surgeon. This service related condition was affecting her readiness and was on limited duty because of it. The surgery would have taken care of the problem and she would have been able to return to full duty after she recovered. We started the process in the beginning of 2007. She just had the surgery last month.
This was a good sailor and there is no reason that she had to deal with the pain and problems her condition caused her for so long. But the bureaucrats at tricare wanted to drag it out.
