Strip club owner posts “No Negroes Allowed” sign

ABBOTSFORD, Wisconsin - A sign excluding black people from a future Abbotsford, Wisconsin business is enraging some people in the small town.
 
It's a sign generations of people may have never seen, yet Mark Prior says it's his right to discriminate.
 
"If I've got a problem with you it's going to be on the front of my store," says Mark Prior.
 

When I first read this, I felt a sudden rush of rage but then thought about it.  I'm okay with his sign and am equally okay with a black business posting a "no whites allowed" sign, a business with a "no men allowed" sign, or anything else of this sort.   If I don't agree with the sign, I simply go somewhere else.  Why does it have to be more difficult than that?

I will know the Republic is safe when:

1. I can open an ethnic restaurant under the name of that ethnicity's "worst" cognomen (such as, but not limited to "Hiram the Honky's Hamburger Heaven"); costume the staff in ridiculous stereotypes; and deny service to any person, group, or category of people just because I want to; all without fear of legal liability.

Personally, I think this may be a big publicity stunt to get his strip club some free advertisement and he is hoping to have people show up out of curiosity.

Seriously, what is this guy thinking. We all know there are clubs, bars, etc that cater to a specific genera. For example, I don't think I'd go to the Appolo in NYC, because even though I may be able to go there, I don't think I'd be well recieved. There are other examples, but to put a sign like that outside for all to see is just not tasteful. Plainly wrong, IMO.

Looks like discrimination to me - and in our country at this time, there is a law against discrimination of this type. If he's running a private club, that's one thing. But if it's a public strip club, he's gonna get sued.

Talk about a way to get lots of free publicity!! He will probably be forced by the local government to remove the sign, but in the meantime...he's going to be "topic of discussion" at every water cooler, bar, coffee shop in the area.

+1.  Refuse entry to the individual troublemakers, be they black, white, yellow, purple, whatever, but race based discrimination is illegal.
