its a fundamental difference between conservatives and liberals. when we got our asses kicked in 2006, we said, "wow. we just got our asses kicked. let's find the problem and fix it", and proceeded to do just that. liberals get their ass kicked, and immediately wet their dresses, and hysterically scratch each other's eyes out.
the bloodbath will go on for weeks, and then the losers will pout for months. the house dems won't be functional for a year.
Hi,
I am not so sure I totally agree with your analysis. As a conservative I wrote Steele a letter, which I posted here, outlining several issues that the republicans need to support in order to be effective. On a national level, that was pretty much ignored, which in turn, my checkbook and several others have ignored the republican party.
It was the citizens that formed the tea parties, and the conservative media that gave us a presence. Hell I am 70 years old, never protested in my life and the fourth of July 2009 my wife and I with our home made signs stood in the rain, along with several hundred of our new best friends, and basically told the world we were fed up with things. At that point, the Republican party sure as hell not embracing us.
In September 2009 I met Marco Rubio at a tea party rally in Lakeland, FL where they predicted 80 people would turn out and there was much closer to 5,000. Marco was 35 points behind in the polls and he spoke the message to the people despite being told to wait his turn by the Republican party. Charlie Crist, who was then a popular governor was the heir apparent to the senate seat and Marco should wait for 2012. After listening to his message and meeting him once again I wrote Michael Steele and my letter fell on deaf ears.
I think you were right, conservatives got their asses kicked, but the republican party was as clueless as the democrat party will be tonight. The Republicans still are not on board with us, it is when guys like Rubio won the republican primary that they began to embrace conservatism. Now it is the job of the conservative victors to kick some ass within the party to make it become our party, like the friggins socialists and libs hijacked the democrat party.
Tonight is only step one in a long process. As I said on a different thread, we drove 4 hours to Miami and in a few minutes leave for Rubio headquarters. If I get so speak to Marco tonight I plan on telling him what I just wrote, his job it to represent us, the citizens within the halls of congress and within the Republican party.
best regards,
