As long as  that position goes to a Dem I will be happy.  :-)
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I look forward to the blood bath.

its a fundamental difference between conservatives and liberals.  when we got our asses kicked in 2006, we said, "wow.  we just got our asses kicked.  let's find the problem and fix it",  and proceeded to do just that.  liberals get their ass kicked, and immediately wet their dresses, and hysterically scratch each other's eyes out.

the bloodbath will go on for weeks, and then the losers will pout for months.  the house dems won't be functional for a year.

It will probably be Hoyer unless he is beaten by Lollar. I doubt Pelosi gets it since she will be blamed for what's going to happen Tuesday.

The democrats will need a cowboy and a pack of sheep dogs to keep that crowd corralled.

Will the Dems fight to be the minority leader or will they try to avoid being named minority leader.

Hi,

I am not so sure I totally agree with your analysis.  As a conservative I wrote Steele a letter, which I posted here, outlining several issues that the republicans need to support in order to be effective.  On a national level, that was pretty much ignored, which in turn, my checkbook and several others have ignored the republican party.

It was the citizens that formed the tea parties, and the conservative media that gave us a presence.  Hell I am 70 years old, never protested in my life and the fourth of July 2009 my wife and I with our home made signs stood in the rain, along with several hundred of our new best friends, and basically told the world we were fed up with things.  At that point, the Republican party sure as hell not embracing us.

In September 2009 I met Marco Rubio at a tea party rally in Lakeland, FL where they predicted 80 people would turn out and there was much closer to 5,000.  Marco was 35 points behind in the polls and he spoke the message to the people despite being told to wait his turn by the Republican party.  Charlie Crist, who was then a popular governor was the heir apparent to the senate seat and Marco should wait for 2012.  After listening to his message and meeting him once again I wrote Michael Steele and my letter fell on deaf ears.

I think you were right, conservatives got their asses kicked, but the republican party was as clueless as the democrat party will be tonight.  The Republicans still are not on board with us, it is when guys like Rubio won the republican primary that they began to embrace conservatism.    Now it is the job of the conservative victors to kick some ass within the party to make it become our party, like the friggins socialists and libs hijacked the democrat party.

Tonight is only step one in a long process.  As I said on a different thread, we drove 4 hours to Miami and in a few minutes leave for Rubio headquarters.  If I get so speak to Marco tonight I plan on telling him what I just wrote, his job it to represent us, the citizens within the halls of congress and within the Republican party.

best regards,

Pelosi won't be elected as minority leader. She's even more polarizing than Zero is, and even the less moonbat of the Dems recognize that now.

Well...maybe she will now. It'll be good to see her shrieking and powerless, instead of shrieking, smirking, and powerful.

If she is elected Minority leader, someone needs to walk up to her and give her the tiniest gavel they can find. Maybe one made out of a toothpick.

The wicked witch isn't done yet, looks like those bribes just keep on coming.  Love this from Kevin Jackson!

I had to laugh at the newly created position by Nancy Pelosi for Jim Clyburn (D-SC), the black candidate who essentially got a token position of “leadership” within the Democrat Party. All Clyburn had to do to get his token was not challenge Steny Hoyer, a white Democrat. With Democrats, there are no losers, right?

For the black man not rocking the boat, Pelosi and other real Democrat leaders threw Clyburn a bone—right through his nose. The good news is that bone matches Clyburn’s well-worn leash.

Totally amazing.  They're really seriously considering making her minority leader?

Oh please, Dear God, make it so.

It's not her!  She's not the reason the Dems got their asses handed to them on a platter.  It's the economy!  Or so Pelosi says.  The woman is delusional.

I wouldn't be so sure of that.

Let's see how it shakes out first. You know, I really didn't think the Dems could possibly be so stupid as to re-elect her, but they just might be.  :clueless:

Sparky's correct. If she gets re-elected, she'll continue the systematic destruction of the Democratic party. That leaves a vacuum for "moderates" and "middle-of-the-roaders" to look more toward the Repubs.

One fear, though - that same vacuum might result in the Tea party movement becoming more formalized and identified as a political party - a 3rd political party in our system that hasn't done real well in embracing 3 parties.

I don't see that 3rd party happening Eupher. Tea Party "backed" candidate has more appeal and there is a lot of holding of feet to the fire just yet.  A revitalized Republican party with constitutional and conservative in the mantra would do much better.

Agreed in principle, but one thing we really HAVEN'T seen is a "revitalized Republican party". Michael Steele, in all his regal splendor, is still at the helm and until the party sees new leadership, it's same-o, same-o.

Again, if there's a vacuum of power or influence, something or someone will rush in to fill that space. The Tea Party movement may be that force, even against its own express will. Shit happens, and the laws of physics will not be denied.

The Republican Party had best get its shit together. It's been floundering from a leadership standpoint for a helluva long time and until they see Michael Steele doing the duffel bag drag, it's more of the same.

I heard the defeated house members were not allowed to vote, but were the recent newly elected Dims allowed to vote?

Well, Shuler had to try--it was a campaign promise. He's still a Dem, I wouldn't trust him worth a damn on anything substantive, but at least he kept his campaign promise.
