I didn't see the roast.  Probably a good thing.

The songs going through my head right now . . . A combination of an old Manfred Mann tune ("Pretty Flamingo"--the Bruce Springsteen version), and some Catholic music.  I cantor for my church, as a lot of you know, and I had the 9 AM Mass yesterday.  Nailed it.  We've got practice tonight, with some of my favorite hymns.
"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of Liberty." - Thomas Jefferson

"All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it, don't sit looking at it - walk!" -Ayn Rand

"Those that trust God with their safety must yet use proper means for their safety, otherwise they tempt Him, and do not trust Him.  God will provide, but so must we also." - Matthew Henry, Commentary on 2 Chronicles 32, from Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible

"These anti-gun fools are more dangerous to liberty than street criminals or foreign spies."--Theodore Haas, Dachau Survivor

Some white woman sorta chunky (NOT Roseanne Barr) who fancied herself as some kind of comedienne. She came off looking like a ho. As a matter of fact, that's what they called her most of the time.

Lisa Lampanelli (or as Gary Busey called her, Lisa Lumpajelly and her Haunted Vagina).

That's the one. Never heard of that ho. Easily forgettable.

Gary Busey --- OMG, what a burnout. Then he does those "Incredibly Stupid Drivers" TV shows on the Testosterone Channel or some such, where the "celebrities" (like Busey?  :rotf: ) comment on how truly stupid the antics are.

Gary has about four brain cells left. That's it. The rest are GONE.

I couldn't believe some of the stuff that was said about her, and she just laughed.

I wondered if she really thought it was funny, or if she was laughing so no one knew how much some of the remarks hurt.

She seems to give as good as she gets -- I think it's all part of the show.  Last night's roast just was NOT that good.

I didn't start watching it until after she had been at the dais, so I don't know what she said....

T said it's usually much better.

Hey man, you ever notice how identical the Banana Splits theme is to Bob Marley's "Buffalo Soldier?"

Check it out. It's unreal.

And no, I have not been drinking or smoking anything today, thank you very much.  :bird:

Oh my, I used to LOVE watching the 30 minute infomercials for those Dean Martin Roasts!!!!!!  :rotf:

One of these days, I'm gonna buy the complete set off Ebay. Not sure if they're still available anywhere else.

I have those and they're great!  I have the DVDs of the Dean Martin Show too. You can never have too much Dino!
